At first, I had some doubts due to the reviews I had seen about this product, but I decided to give it a chance. I took the time to make sure it worked well for several weeks before sharing my opinion. The ClimaTek pilot control valve has worked perfectly since the first installation. It was easy to set up, and I haven’t had any issues since. Its performance has been excellent, showing great quality and durability. I appreciate that it’s a high quality replacement part compatible with systems like Honeywell, making installation easier. Recommended for those looking for a reliable and durable solution for their water heater.

I used this to replace the Honeywell Water Heater Natural Gas Valve WV8840A1000 on my Bradford White tank.It is branded Resideo, which I wasn't familiar with. Resideo owns Honeywell so this is the new model. It was easy to install. My burner fired up right away when I turned it on. I had hot water one hour later. All told, I'm glad I didn't call a plumber. This part saved me money.Update: still working great. This was easy and turned out to be a great solution.

I was excited to finally fix my faulty water heater with the help of the ClimaTek Water Heater Gas Standing Pilot Control Valve. The product description promised a brand new, top quality replacement part that would work with my hot water heater, so I eagerly placed my order and paid extra for expedited shipping. I was ready to kiss my cold shower woes goodbye.Imagine my dismay when, after draining and disassembling my water heater, I discovered that the control valve I received was not only used, but it was also dirty, scratched up, and the wrong part number. It was as if the seller had grabbed the first thing they could find in their junkyard, gave it a quick wipe down, and slapped a misleading label on it.Not only was I stuck with a useless, mismatched part, but I also had to go through the hassle and inconvenience of reassembling my water heater, returning the faulty product (which I had paid extra to receive quickly, mind you), and finding a new supplier. The four women in my household were understandably frustrated and tired of taking cold showers, and it was all thanks to this dishonest seller.I will say, Amazon was great about refunding my purchase, but it didn't change the fact that I had to go through all this hassle and my water heater was still not fixed. In the end, I learned a valuable lesson: not all sellers can be trusted. It pays to do your research and make sure you're getting what you paid for. Save yourself the hassle and steer clear of this dishonest seller. Trust me, you don't want to be in my shoes (or, rather, my freezing cold shower).

I did NOT drain the water tank. I did close off both water valves and relieve the pressure at the drain. If you don't have shut off valves or just the cold side this will still work. Methodically unscrew and pull out old valve then calmly insert and screw in new valve. If Air can't get in from there or the Top physics wont let it drain out. Be sure to Soap Bubble test your gas fittings after you restore gas and BEOFRE you light pilot. Liquid soap and a small brush works well. There is also a 1/4 foot indicator on your Gas Meter with every not running it should NOT move.i did replace the Thermocouple pilot assembly as well. Now I have a Hot Water again. If your pilot lite has randomly gone out over the past couple years. It seems the water isn't as hot and you keep turning it up. You are probably one your way to replacing this Gas Valve. The original has common Temp sensor issues and false overheat warnings that may Toast it's Circuit board.

My water heater was not heating up the water regularly and we consistently had to re-light the pilot light to get it going again. It wasn't going out or anything, the controller was just not turning on the burner for whatever reason. Figured it had to be a bad temperature sensor or something else to do with the controller. On top of that, a small leak had begun dripping around the controller a few months prior that had become a minor annoyance. Most people probably would have called a plumber by this point but I figured I might as well try replacing the controller first before a plumber recommends getting a whole new water heater. I watched some install videos online, bought this controller, and swapped it out in under 2 hours. The whole setup works perfectly again and it couldn't have been simpler. The leak was also fixed by properly sealing the new valve while replacing it.I encourage everyone with a water heater 10-20 years old to at least give it a try before calling a plumber or replacing the whole thing. Might save you several hundred dollars.

Changed this Gas Valve along with the Flame Sensor on my water heater since I didn’t know exactly which was at fault and these gas valves are known to go bad. With some YouTube videos as a guide I successfully attempted the change and a few hours later my water heater was working beautifully again. I hope it lasts a long time.

This looked just like the original controller and after getting the the old one out, it went in really easy. The hardest part about the job was the fact that the water heater was half in the attic, so I was having to reach up to do everything as there wasn't room for a step ladder. Once installed and all connections made, checked and pilot light lite the controller fired up and started heating the water. I have had this unit in and working for almost two weeks and it is working as it should. I hope it lasts as long as the original.
