I own a 58-77mm step up ring for my Canon 50mm f/1.4 lens and then purchased the 62-77mm to fit my Tamron 90mm macro lens. These are made of brass which will not stick as much as the aluminum ones do. However, there is a weight different to consider as the brass are at least twice as heavy. The one thing I did notice was the first step up ring came in a nice plastic case 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" but the last one came in a paper envelope which will not last as long while in the field. I would purchase a plastic case for this if I knew where to get one.

This is a very high quality adapter. The threads are cut accurately so it spins on smoothly. Brass has a lower friction coefficient than aluminum with far reduced stiction, so filters have far less tendency to get stuck on a brass adapter, especially high quality filters with brass frames. It's machined accurately all around with seemingly tight tolerances. The coloring is well done and the edge is knurled for extra grip during handling. Brass is also significantly heavier than aluminum, so it weighs a fair bit more than the competition in this price range.Speaking of price, this adapter is excellent value as a well built, brass adapter that's less than half the price of the competition's "pro" adapters.

Bought these extension rings after doing online search. I have had in expensive rings of different brands made of Aluminum. They are horrible since they tend to freeze on the lens thread and very difficult to unscrew. The answer seems to be rings made of brass.Luzid rings are made of brass and cost 1/3 to 1/4th of B+W which are also brass rings. I have not experienced any problems so far. They seems to be of top quality.Luzid also makes some select lens filters. But the choice is very limited. I will not hesitate to try them if available for my purposes.

This is the sturdiest, best-feeling adapter ring I've ever bought! It screws on to both the lens and the filter smooth and securely. I have a cheaper ring that, while lighter weight, has threads that feel very prone to stripping, and I often have trouble removing my filter from it!This guy is solid, secure, and professional-feeling. Get it!

I ordered the wrong size so can't test but quality piece. I really like the idea of brass.

This has beautifully cut threads that mate perfectly with my lenses and filters. Right now I'm using it to stack a Hoya IR cut filter in front of a Leica DG lens, and there are absolutely no issues. I have no idea why you would pay more for a brass step-up ring, because this thing is just about perfect. My only upgrade would be added knurling, but that would force me to buy a ring that's twice as expensive.

Nice heft to it. High quality. Doesn't get stuck.

I like brass for these connections better than other materials. Works well.
