I bought one, there appeared to be a problem with the hardware. Contacted Radioddity and Amazon, consensus was to send it back and get another (which I did). Second radio had the exact same issue; Radioddity tech wasn't sure how to fix the issue. I did a web search and came up with a very obscure posting giving the solution (Note: it's a setting, not a hardware problem). End result: radio works perfectly! Issue was *not* addressed in the manual; I would suggest you find and download a PDF titled "G90 Cheat Sheet", it gives a *lot* of additional info on this radio. Bottom line, though, this radio rocks! For the money, a VERY good purchase -- I am really glad I bought it. Has a built-in antenna tuner, waterfall display, small form factor, 20 watt output (more than enough for DX), 18 month warranty from Radioddity, and lots more.

The G90 is a great radio for HF, and works quite well with a wide variety of antennas, and the built-in tuner is quite flexible. I'm using an EFHW POTA-ble Reel antenna.A couple of important things: Adjust your power setting immediately upon first boot, as it defaults to 1W. This is fine for things like QRP, FT8 or CW, but if you're wanting to use SSB, turn up the power. Secondly, study the manual thoroughly. Use the CMP if you need to. One last thing, get a stand for this if you can. The Radioddity stand works okay with it, but needs a converter to go from Tamiya to Anderson power poles if you want to use the fan on that stand. The G90 does get warm after a bit of useDefinitely worth the money, and especially so since the tuner that's built in is quite reliable. Properly tuned, my EFHW reports between 1.1-1.5:1 SWR. I use a 6Ah LiFePO4 battery, which is more than enough for a couple hours worth of use, since this radio maxes out at 20W. Within a month's time, I was able to make ~150 QSOs via SSB. You will need additional devices to use this G90 with FT8.A solid competitor to the Yaesu FT-891.

I recently installed the Xiegu G90 transceiver in my pickup truck, and I couldn't be happier with its performance. Here’s a rundown of my experience so far:Installation and Setup:Mounting the G90 in my truck was straightforward. The unit is compact, and it fits nicely in my mobile setup without taking up too much space.Performance:The transceiver performs exceptionally well. I’ve received excellent audio reports from other operators, with many commenting on the clarity and quality of my signal. The 20-watt output is more than sufficient for mobile use, and the built-in automatic antenna tuner does a fantastic job of matching the antenna for optimal performance.User Interface:The color display is bright and easy to read, even in direct sunlight. Navigating the menus is intuitive, and the various buttons and knobs are responsive and well-placed. The spectrum display and waterfall are particularly useful for spotting signals and avoiding interference.Durability:So far, the G90 has held up well against the bumps and vibrations of mobile operation. It seems to be a robust piece of equipment, which gives me confidence that it will last a long time in the mobile environment.Features:I’m impressed by the range of features packed into this small unit. The CW decoder and digital modes capability are a huge plus. The noise reduction and notch filter work effectively to clean up signals, making for a pleasant listening experience even in noisy conditions. Conclusion:The Xiegu G90 has exceeded my expectations as a mobile transceiver. Its excellent audio reports, durable construction, and user-friendly interface make it a top choice for anyone looking to operate HF bands from their vehicle. Highly recommended!

Having used this radio now for a while, I can say with confidence that this is well worth while. I was sceptical about the size of the waterfall, but it is very functional and clear. The radio is easy to operate and it has one of the greatest antenna tuners I have ever used, and fast also. I will tune about anything you hook up as antenna. Strongly recommend.

After the first time on-air with the Xeigu G90, I can say this transceiver is a winner — and a Keeper.Loaded with features, efficient, easy to use and compact. I mated this transceiver with the new Super AntennaMP1DXG SuperStick Portable HF Antenna. Multi-band 40m - 10m.My entire package: transceiver, battery, antenna, and cables, including backpack, weighed in at under 20lbsAs a bonus, Amazon shipping and delivery was excellent - as usual.

Great unit.Amazon give a 1 year warranty. But I'm unsure how you get it repaired in Australia after the warranty expires. The antenna tuner has lots of relays and I'm think one of those would probably go first as the unit ages.I hardly use knob on the bottom left. It should be programmable to be mic gain/line in gain but I've not seen any option to do this. The audio line in/out shares the connector to the power amp they sell. So if you connect a power amplifier you need a separate break out adapter to access line in out for digital. They sell the adaptor but it's another bit of equipment you need to purchase and mess about with. I use a digirig and digirig cables with it and that works well.
