So after I got these in i, like any sane person, immediately started playing with them. I fully expected to need to sharpen them as nothing is really ready to go right out of the box, but these performed admirably on first use. The handles are comfortable, and don't have a thick coat of poly so they don't feel like plastic. There are some lathe marks, but that can be quickly cleaned up and doesn't affect performance. My only real grip is that I don't know what kind of steel this is made out of, but otherwise these seem pretty serviceable. If anything, I'll pull the handle off and replace with something a bit sturdier, and sand the handle to remove any leftover machine marks, but for what I got at this price, I'm happy with it. Oh and it gets shipped in bags rather than a box, so they thankfully added tip protectors.

Dull as a butter knife ,needs to sharpen them before they will work like the seller says. I used a 400 and a 1000 grit wet stone then to the leather with green compound . Thanks

I have tried all four of the skivers. They are all sharp and work well. Not sure, yet, how long till I have to sharpen. We'll see how good the steel is.

I'm not an expert on leather tools but these seem nice. They worked out of the box pretty well on my leather. I think they will be quite handy when I need to skive a specific small area that my saftey skive wouldn't work well on.

Poor quality - Un-polished corners dig into leather and scratch the surface; also the cutting blade is not as sharp as necessary

Ferrules are loose (rattle in use, so not supporting the end of the wood as they should. Ends are semi- sharp but also chipped. Sides are very thick and rounded and can interfere with the edge of the cut. They push the blade away from the inside of the cut.Took a chance but these are good enough for consistent use.
