Re Glideaway X-Support Bed Frame Support System, GS-3 XS ModelGot this for my queen bed and it much improved my bed. Get rid of old fashioned bed slats and get this! The support comes in a compact, fairly heavy package. It is made of sturdy steel angle irons and steel strips, took about fifteen minutes to assemble - easy assembly, you need only a #2 Philips screw driver and maybe a wrench or pliers. Most of the assembly time was fiddling around with the fit and placement. Once adjusted you tighten all fasteners and it is STURDY. It was a real pleasure in this throw away world to get a product that is very sturdy and well made. The fit is PERFECT. The frame can adjust to just what you need in both height and width. Accommodates metal or wood bed frames. If I could deduct 1/2 star for Ease Of Assembly I would only for this small reason: The instructions are a bit wonky, it was a little puzzling to fit the cross pieces (the notches go UP) and the height brackets (you may not need them at all - they extend the height for very tall beds). Also I suggest: after a week check the height adjustment on the three legs. They may "settle in" a bit, especially if you have carpets.A very good bed support frame.

My partner and I struggled for a few years (!!) with our high-end box top mattress and box springs sinking in the middle and causing us to roll towards each other in our queen bed. Our wooden bed, while newer, just didn’t come with adequate support. Seriously- they just provided an assortment of 2x4 boards. We tried to build our own center supports, which helped a little, but was lacking. After considerable research and reading the reviews on this system (along with many sleepless nights, tired days and aching backs and joints) we decided to take the plunge and invest in this. It was not completely turn-key easy to assemble, but the other reviewers helped us immensely. So, be sure to read the reviews. We did purchase extra hardware to add to the support. Unsure if it was truly necessary, but it certainly didn’t hurt. This does require attachment to the bed frame, so make sure there is enough of a lip to do so, and use a drill. I would recommend putting this together with a partner. It’s possible alone, but would be much more challenging. There is a video on YouTube that helps a little bit, but we had some initial trial and error (before drilling anything!) to figure it out. It took us about 2 hours to assemble and secure the bed. A little sweat equity went a long way- we immediately noticed a difference like night and day. We no longer roll towards each other, our backs feel better and we are sleeping so much better for nearly a year now. The product has remained in place and hasn’t shifted a bit! Very sturdy and 100% worth the investment.

The way this thing fits together is pretty straightforward and others here have explained it better than I. I found building the frame intuitive and was grateful to once again be able to sleep in my king bed following a move where the old bedframe had been lost (long story). Furniture stores were no help! They just want to sell me a new bed. It's unfortunate. So out of desperation I searched "center bed frame" and wound up here. Thank god.Anyway the baggie containing the screws had punctured itself during transit and I had to go to the hardware store to buy appropriate replacements. It was a small but annoying thing. For such a sturdy product they could use a more puncture-resistant bag to contain those sharp wood screws! And perhaps also tape the bag securely to one of the metal pieces. I just had a loose bag and a bunch of screws.

Easy to assemble and looks like it can support a lot of weight!

I replaced our old Queen Bed board set-up with this frame support system. It works great. That said, it is not the easiest to assemble. Instructions are less-than-optimal, so don't be in a rush. Worth the effort for the cost.

Although this product refers to use with wood side rails, our queen bed has steel rails. Nevertheless, installation was not difficult by following the easy to read instructions. I did skip the step of drilling the side rails. Instead, the system lies directly on the side rails with the weight of the foundation and mattress holding it in place. The cross bracing in the center maintains the integrity of the 3 cross rails. I had read in a previous review that the instructions were poor and hard to follow, but that's not the case at all. The system is adjustable over a wide height range. Our bed rails sit at the low end of the range and the parts kit includes 3 risers for use with rails at the high end of the range.

My partner and I purchased the Glideway Support System after the existing support legs on our bed set broke off. We tried to get replacement parts from Structube but they weren't much help. We tried DIY fixes with industrial-strength adhesive but the legs wouldn't stay. The Glideway set is just what we were looking for. It took us about 20-30 mins to set-up. It feels sturdy. I can see it lasting us for quite some time. Installing the "cross rails" was confusing. Mine don't line up perfectly. I think that's on me though, not the product.
