Made sure everything was secure and in working order before went out. After one use the blades broke off making it u usuable. Drilled maybe 6 holes before they came off. also really difficult to get through the last but of ice. Drove 4 hours and couldn't ice fish the second day. The blades and pins came off and finding replacement parts that fit is next to I possible. Horrible day to drive hours only to realize we can't even use the thing.Update: ordered new blades. Now the whole bottom part broke at the welds. It's completely junk now. There's no customer service. Emailed them and called them.

I purchased this ice auger for my husband for Christmas, so he could quickly drill the holes for ice fishing. He used it right away on our pond, and it he said it worked awesome. He did say it's a very strong auger and that you have to hold onto it tightly as it will pull out of your hands. He said the 12" would definitely be too much to handle for one person. The 10" makes a very nice hole, as all of his friends have 8" augers. He said the larger hole is nicer for fishing. I would absolutely recommend this auger and this seller to anyone looking for an ice auger. Great product and great seller!

Like others have said. Nuts and bolts are not tight. Use lock just or loctite and check every one. If you do that, this auger is great. If you don't, you'll be with the others that write bad reviews due to ignorance or negligence

I got this in today and put it together within 15 minutes. It was packaged fairly well and did not have no damage from shipping. I noticed a comment saying it was hard to start for the first time but it only took me 4 pulls and it started right up. After the first start it started on the first pull multiple times. I did notice that you need to be careful about how you screw the gas cap on first time I screwed it on it cross threaded and was leaking gas. My only complaint is that it is kinda shorter then what I expected but it will get the job done and is a great buy for the price.

Honestly! I’m not very happy with this ice auger. It has alot of play in it which makes it difficult to drill into the ice. The loose play is due to a poor design between the blade and shaft to the motor that is held by a small pin.. you really pay for what you get! Save yourself the money and just buy the name brand ( Eskimo) there are more cons than pros.

We finally got enough ice in northern Minnesota to be able to try this out. Be sure to fully prime the bulb and it starts on the 2nd or 3rd pull. Once warmed up it fires up with one pull. Excellent power and cuts the ice like butter! Would highly recommend. Excellent value.

The auger did not work well at all. It had a hard time getting through the ice. It jammed up going through the ice. It powered out going through the ice. The first time out with the auger the bracket that holds the cutting blade broke and the other blade had 1/3 of the blade brake off. Needless to say I was very disappointed in the auger.
