This is a must for Intex like above ground pools! Intex cartridge filters have only gotten worse over the years and never seemed to work well. We have been using intex pools, 18’ and larger, for about 10 years. We bought a 3/4 hp pump and this sand filter in 2022 and my only regret is not getting it sooner!! The pool rarely if ever turns green now and is always crystal clear. A stronger pump might work better but 3/4 hp has worked for us! The same sand has also lasted since 2022 but in 2025 we will need to replace the sand. Highly recommend adding a sand filter system to your intex like pool!!

It says it's rated for 21,000 gallons. Hmmm, not sure about that. I have a 24 foot round above ground, somewhere around 14,000 gallons.For the price, I couldn't replace the head on the last filter. Now my waters clear again.Not sure why they have a Timer function rating, it's just a filter, same with suction power, it's a filter.But it is paired with a decent Pentair motor.

The filter comes with a six page manual that does not include a product diagram regardless of their text. The manual may have some use (I doubt it) if you are a licensed installer and know what to do anyway. I resorted to youtube videos. I tried contacting the company with their supplied number but never got beyond a recording that allowed no further progress. I eventually got the filter up and running. It seems like a good product but definitely lacks support.

I ordered this to replace my existing filter that came with the above-ground pool. However, upon installation, the filter would not work because of faulty valves. Dont waste your time and money on this defective product. I tried to return the product. However, the seller made the return impossible as the return shipping cost is not covered.

Had it for few weeks and it works for inground. This is a small sand filter so it needs a smaller pump. Had an original Hayward pump and it’s too strong for this thing that it was blowing sand back into the pool. So if you get this size and you followed the instructions, and still have sand blowing back in pool, then you need a smaller pump or reduce power level on the pump

I normally don’t write a review for anything. Actually this is my first time. I have got to say this filter is amazing. I purchased the 16†filter and filled it with 100lbs of sand. At first I was a little annoyed because the instructions are horrible but a quick YouTube video cleared it all up.Once assembled I let it run for 12 hours. Mind you I couldn’t see the steps in my little pool when I hooked this thing up. 12 hours later I could see the steps and that there was a drop to the deeper end. I’ll let the photos speak for themselves after a full 24 hours of run time.I had to discharge the filter 2 times during the 24 hours of total use because of just how much crud was in my pool. Now I can see through it and it’s clear as day.No leaks and no issues what so ever
