I bought this pump at the beginning of my pool season because the 6 year old original I got with the above ground pool died. I really like the option of dual speed on the motor. the force of the water is as good as the original pump. I am reviewing this after a 5 month season of non-stop use and I have no complaints.

I just received and installed this pool pump on June 12, 2023. I have a separate 30-Amp breaker just for the pool pump ( with 14g underground wire). It ran strong for the 3 weeks I used it. Today, however, when I tried to backwash, the motor only made a low humming sound, with no power whatsoever to circulate the water. I tripped the breaker to power cycle the pump. When I turned it back on a pretty good-sized flame shot out from the back of the motor. Smoke was billowing up from under neath the motor. I so wish that I had had my phone on me to capture a picture of it on fire. I ran inside for a fire extinguisher and my phone, but by that time the smoke had died down. It's worth it to spend the extra money for a quality pump. This one is complete garbage, with a 3-week life span!

I got this to replace the old pump on my 15 year old pool. It was very easy to connect to the piping that I already had in place. The nicest thing about this pump is that there is a switch to turn it to high flow., low flow and off. Having the switch makes it much easier when performing maintenance on the pool : you save wear and tear on the plug by not having to constantly remove and reinsert it. Very good product right out of the box!

I ordered this pump to replace one that was going bad. It works great connected very easy with no problems. The only reason I am giving it a four is because the low setting on the motor is not strong enough to move the water trough my salt cell. On the low setting the salt cell gives the error no flow so its not picking up any water movement on the low setting.

I love the fact that I needed a pool pump asap and this item came quicker than they said. I have gone thru 3 pumps and this one is better than the rest. It is quiet and very strong. It keeps my pool clear and clean. I will buy this brand only from now on. Also, the price was a lot cheaper than the rest. Thanks XtremepowerUS

Update: 7/24/2021.I installed this pump on December 2020. Today it wouldn't run. Motor hummed but wouldn't turn, apparently the impeller is jammed for some reason. Pump has never been run dry and the filter basket has been contantly maintained. Removed the basket, tried to turn the impeller by hand but it wouldn't budge. Should've gottn more than 7 months out of this pump.2nd Update 7/27/2021:Disassembled the pump. Impeller isn't jammed and the motor shaft turns freely, but still only hums when power applied. Apparently the start winding may be faulty. Poor quality.

So far I am very very impressed with this pump! I had replaced an old proline pump I had for my 18 round above ground pool with this guy. I was kind of skeptical about buying it at first. But man am I happy I did cause this thing is amazing. It's very quiet. I have the water splashing up from the surface coming from my sand filter to the pool and the water splashing around makes more noise then the damn pump. And that's with the pump on the high setting. Cause that's another great feature about this pump is that it has two power mode. The low setting in most cases moves enough water to filter my pool on a regular basis. The days I add chemicals or after a storm where there is a bunch of debris floating around, I will turn it on the high setting. And I'm assuming my old proline was just a 1 hp cause the high setting on this thing is very powerful. I went to a local pool shop and they wanted $345 for a Hayward pump. No thank you! If this pump lasts, XtremepowerUS has a customer for life.
