I was a little skeptical when the jackhammer arrived in a plastic case with cheap accessories (gloves, mask, goggles, etc.) but that all changed once I started to use it. This jackhammer is an absolute beast at breaking rock. I had to dig/chip through several feet of straight limestone for utility trenching but this tool made it very easy. I have used several 60 lb. jackhammers so I didn't think this one would do as well. The trade off is that the 60 lb. hammers are stronger but difficult to maneuver and control. This hammer is much lighter and easier to place and angle exactly where I need, but still delivers a powerful punch. Plus it is smaller and easier to use in tight spaces. One down side is very early on, the paint started to flake off. I have put about 10-15 hours on it and it's still working great, so we will see what it's longevity is like. I can't recommend this jackhammer enough. It is a great tool and great value.

I bought the 2200 watt jack hammer to break theough the basement concrete floor to install a backwater valve to prevent any sewage from ever backing up. The price of the 2200 watt jack hammer was about the same as two days rental at the big box store's, so the price is right. I read on line to let the jack hammers weight do the work, this is almost completely correct. When starting, one must apply a slight downward pressure initially, or it will bounse all around; then let the weight do its job. Once that was figured out, it was easy to use. The case is overall a good case; however, the latches tend to get knocked off. The case definitely makes it easier to store. The bits are 1-1/8" hex, so they are more popular/readily available than the smaller jack hammers. If using it to compact dirt, the compacting bit is on the expensive side, so for what I needed, the old foot stomp method worked quite well. Be sure to add the oil prior to first use by unscrewing the site gauge. I used a purple 40 weight synthetic brand of oil, actually I think it was a 15w-40w. There a little leakage down the bit, but I think that would be expected to keep it lubricated and cool during use. When grabbing the bit after use, it will get the black dirty oil over the glove/hand, so take the necessary precautions. Some people claim it won't hold the bit in, and I also wondered how to do it ubutuakkt. Here's how, after sliding the bit in, there is a spring loaded knob which is pulled out and rotated 180 degrees to lock it in. To remove the bit, just rotate the knob 180 degrees again. In addition, like others have commented, it it doesn't start hammering when initilly pulling the switch, raise the jack and let it smack down on the concrete, and it will work just fine. Considering everything, it is a great value and you probably won't go wrong if a jack hammer is needed... . . Now what other project can I think of to use this for?

Ran into rock while digging fence post. After seeing about renting a jackhammer I decided to give this one a try as it was the same price to rent one for a few days than it was to just buy this one. Ran it for two days on and off busting through rock in the ground. Made it thru my last ten holes and the tool is still functioning. There is a bit of grease/oil (idk which) leaking onto the bit but not much at all and my oil level has basically stayed the same. The tool is heavy but not too bad. Would I say or recommend this as an everyday job site demo tool? Probably not. But I would say if you have a small diy job then this will probably get your thru it and worth the money since it’s so inexpensive.

I purchased this to chip through a concrete garage floor that was accidentally poured over the septic tank.Right out of the box I noticed the weight of this tool. It was heavy. The 2 bits that came with it were very sturdy looking also. I watched a youtube video on how to use an electric jackhammer correctly & got to work. I cut a short, but deep channel on one edge of the 30" square I wanted to remove. I started there chipping the concrete out & moving away from the channel as I broke through to the ground below. The pointed bit worked best for breaking pieces out. The chisel bit worked to square up the edges & a couple times to dig out the pointed bit when I got it stuck. I had someone removing chunks as I worked, so the tool got a pretty good steady workout. After about 3, 1/2 hours I had jackhammered out a 30" square through 6" of concrete with no issues from this tool. It did warm up a bit & it needed it's own circuit when plugged in to avoid tripping the breaker. The tool performed amazingly well in my opinion & would be great for small to medium jobs like I did. Well worth the investment I think. It's also a very good idea to watch a how-to video to avoid mistakes that make the job harder. Yes I would recommend this tool to others.

Look, honestly, I've only had this thing for a couple of days so I don't know how valuable this review is. I certainly can't speak for its long term reliability. Anyway, it came a day ahead of time and I started jackhammering the concrete in my basement. I'm installing a anti backwater valve. Oil was up to the level the instructions indicated. I checked because I've heard people got these without oil sometimes. I laughed when I saw they included a face mask, gloves and safety glasses. A nice touch really but I'm covered, thanks. This thing works great. I had the usual poor "con"tractor work done when the house was built. The basement floor wasn't level and yet the concrete was 7 inches thick in places, no kidding. With that kind of stupidity this thing wasn't super speedy but I doubt a very expensive one would have done any better. I noticed it got hot pretty quickly. I didn't want to push it so I worked it for 15 minutes and then I gave it a break while I packed out the broken concrete. I think if you take it easy with this baby it will last a long time. The thing I didn't like was the spongy feel of the support handle. I would have preferred hard plastic but that's OK. I also noted that when you bared down on it, sometimes it wouldn't "jack". I'd lift it up and thrust it down hard and it would start to do it's job. Strange...it was like it wasn't able to grab the chuck. And it's not 2200 watt. I had a humidifier running on the same circuit and never blew a breaker. Theoretical limit for a 15 amp circuit is 1650 to 1800 watts. I don't care as long as it does it's job.In conclusion, if you're not a pro and aren't going to ask a lot out of it, giving it a rest occasionally, it should be fine for the occasional job. For me, at least, it's cheaper than renting and I have the convenience of using any time I want. I'd recommend it and am glad I bought it.ETA: Have been using it for months now to break up my concrete basement and it's working great. I have to buy another bull point as mine is wearing out. This little guy is WELL worth it's cost. It's taking a while to break up 10 inch thick concrete but it's doing it.
