Not gonna lie, was a bit suspicious of the non-reviewed and limited sales info reed case, but considering comparable capacity reed cases tend to cost 2-3x more than this one, I was curious.I took a little longer than I would have liked for it to arrive, but totally worth the wait!My reeds are ~secure~ in the reed ribbons in both compartments, the black velvet lining is secure and plush. The magnetic closures are solidly inserted and hold the case tightly together while still being easy on the hands to open. The hinges are well-mounted and free-moving without being flimsy or poorly fitted. I also like that the case has ventilation holes fitted opposite each other across the length of each compartment. I definitely prefer my reed cases to have good ventilation to help my reeds dry out, and the cross-flow of air due to this design will help ensure my reeds dry out evenly. The case is lightweight but solid, and I fully expect to get many years out of this case. And to clarify, when I say I have an expectation of longevity, I mean well over 5 years of service life.My other reed cases are by Loree (2 3-reed capacity cases) Charles Double Reed Company (10-reed capacity), and Harris Chu (20-reed capacity), and all of them are all well over 20 years old and are still in service of a working professional oboist with minimal to no repair work needed to keep them going, and this sleeper of a wooden case is built every bit as nicely as my lineup from those more well-known “brand name†reed case makers. If you’re looking for a bargain high capacity reed case, I think you’d be pleasantly surprised by this one. I’m truly impressed with the quality for the money
