This review is more about the company that sold us the carrier.We love the skybox NX16 and highly recommend it! It is very easy to install, it's lightweight but sturdy and holds a lot of stuff. The best part is that it's waterproof in torrential downpours which is really important while traveling.The company on Amazon actually did not sell us the correct item, I am not sure which one they sold us but it did not open from both sides and to make matters worse it was broken when it arrived and obviously used. We did not order a used product. We were able to return the item free of charge but it was a huge inconvenience and we ended up having to spend a lot more money ($200 more) locally It is well with it though. We highly recommend the investment!

Lots of room for strollers, pack n play, bouncy chair and suitcases. Very quiet ride, and extremely easy to install and quick access. Great expansion of space for my Kia Telluride!

I don’t know if this helps anybody and this may be an answer to a question that nobody asked, but this does also fit a 6 foot ladder in it perfectly with room to spare. I bought this from a outdoor store to use mainly for my camping trips. but as a maintenance guy who travels a lot I did manage to find out that a ladder fits inside also. so if you have a smaller car and you travel a lot with tools and stuff, mount this on the roof and you can also carry a ladder or two with you and it will be concealed to possibly prevent somebody from trying to steal your ladder if they can’t see it.

As I have now read from other reviews, the Yakima SkyBox NX can blow open, it happened to me. Both latches were latched, key removed. I no longer trust Yakima.In 7/27 email, Yakima's support rep K*****l said she would call me, never did. She also refused to consider replacing my damaged sleeping bag. On the highway, I notice that there are 4 to 5 times more Thule boxes than Yakima. Telling

Great size it fit 4 weekender suit cases and more. It does take two people to easily get it on your roof top.I did manage to get it up by myself using a chair to set the box on it. Then I could lift the other half lift to the roof by my self. Very secure locking devices.
