They are the perfect color and are black all the way through. They are not painted. Strong as well. I was pushing them into wood and using 290lbs of gorilla strength. They all held up.

Good for the price. Should be excellent for bulletin boards. I used these to tack blackout curtains to the wall cause the curtain rod I had ordered still let in too much light. Even hammering delicately, I still bent a few of the tacks. Some of them went in like butter. None of the plastic ends broke when I was hammering. Still have a lot left over for whatever I'll need them for next.

Exactly as described. I used them to hold up all sorts of things on my dorm's giant pinboard, some by directly poking through things, and others by supporting them as a sort of hook.Some examples of things they hold up:- large posters that I keep up with 1 of these through each of the corners- photos held in thick plastic sleeves, using 1 pin on top and bottom supporting without stabbing through the plastic- thick, heavy string lights with actual light bulbs attached to the standard, ~1/4" outlet cords. I stab the board and hang the cord on top of it, and it only takes one every foot or so to keep up the lights on the underside of the board.- 3 of these hold up a decorative piece of malachite I got off etsy, 2 on bottom and 1 on top. I have the top one at an angle and it does well with the lopsided pressure. (pictured)Will update if they break or otherwise show a lack of longevity. Otherwise I definitely recommend.
