Yes, these are the ones that many tuba players swap into horn using the German-made Melton/B&S/etc. "Big Valve" piston sets. They are a little too weak for my tastes, but many use them to great success. I love them in my two horns that have older Nirschl-made piston sets. (These are what came on MW/Melton tubas before the advent of the Big Valve sets. The original 2165s had these valves, as a reference point.) I have an old Kurath F tuba (1989) and a Holton 345 with a set of Nirschl's valves (from a Böhm & Menil tuba made in 1987) that work GREAT with these springs. The touch is just right. I suffer fatigue in my 3rd and 4th fingers much less since I made this switch. Very much worth the money, even if you end up not liking them. (You can always sell a next-to-new set on one of the online tuba forums if you don't like them. Get a set and see what you think. NOTE: I do NOT recommend these for TOP ACTION tubas, especially BESSON or other compensating tubas, as the valves are TOO HEAVY for these springs. These are for EUPHONIUM, so you need to have valves that do not use extra-long and heavy compensating pistons. And the pistons need to be horizontal, to help remove some of the traveling weight on the springs. THESE ARE LIGHTWEIGHT SPRINGS FOR A TUBA — but they work very well in the horns I described above. Highly recommended!
