Quality mouthpiece, nothing wrong except it doesn't fit me.Had trouble finding notes with it. Might be on the large size compared to my trumpet mouthpiece, too much of a jump. Switched to a Wicks 4B and had a lot more success.But that's nothing wrong with this mouthpiece if it is the right fit for you. Everyone is different. Check the specs, pic an interior rim closer to your other mouthpieces and give it a whirl.

With Yamaha's insane serial number labelling system it took forever to mix and match attempting to find a good starter mouthpiece but it did happen. This mouth piece is the cousin to the my Yamaha tpt mouthpiece that while also labelled awkwardly is their version of the universal Bach 7c that most people start with so if you're not already a savant at playing this is a great benchmark to start out with

The 11F4 has a comfortable, flattish rim that aids endurance. The throat is a #25, which is very small for a flugelhorn mouthpiece, but it helps with the slotting of notes. At least, it does for me. My accuracy immediately improved with this mouthpiece. It plays like a trumpet piece, and it sounds like one, too. But I like it nonetheless.
