For once I can see bird activity from my favorite chair! This was easy to assemble and is very sturdy and sits firmly on the patio surface. Even with squirrels running up and down and birds feeding it is secure. Wind is not an issue either. I put two 8" terra-cotta plates in the round sections for a different selection of seed. I find that the squirrels leave the feeders alone if they have something for them. I do have one squirrel proof feeder, and seeing them try to eat from it is a great comedy routine. Really like this set up.Update: I had a squirrel die on the feeder, somehow getting caught and injured between the pole and the base of one of the "arms." Not a happy occurrence! I have now used zip ties to bring the base of each "arm" closer to the pole so that nothing can get caught. It's a great feeder, and this was a fluke accident, but I don't want it to happen again. Another update 4-19; Another squirrel was caught between the hangers and the pole! Thankfully, we caught it in time to free him. I have now used duct tape to pull the hangers closer to the pole. Not attractive, but I hope it works. This is definitely a design flaw.

I was hesitant to purchase this at first, especially given some of the negative reviews. My husband said "if you want it just get it!" I did and I am so happy I did. I love it. It has given us great pleasure and entertainment all summer. I cannot wait to see the birds use the feeders this winter.I had a major freak out attack ;-) when I opened up the box. For the life of me, I could not figure out how to put the O-rings on it. So, I decided to read the directions. Then, I put it together IN the house. I cannot describe the feeling of accomplishment that coursed through me after having put the unwieldy, sturdy contraption together. I was even more impressed with my skills when I had to take the WHOLE THING APART because it wouldn't fit through the kitchen door to go outside on the back deck. I was thrilled (NOT!) that the second time of putting it together equaled the same amount of time it took the Ist time I put it together. Those 0-rings are the dickens!But, once I put it back together outside, it was so easy to load the bird feeders. Refilling the feeders is so easy. I absolutely love this contraption and would go through every bit of consternation in putting it together again for the sheer pleasure that we have had with the variety and beauty of birds that have visited us. It's very sturdy. Doesn't tip over in wind, during squirrel attacks or in holding up heavy bird feeders. I appreciated the suggestion of one of the reviewers to use the hose clamps. I am going to attach those before winter.This has been one of my most favorite things I have ever ordered from Amazon.

Generally, this perfectly fits my needs for indoor planting, that is efficient for space.The base itself is a little unsteady. I would secure it, if you plan to use it outdoors or have children/pets that may knock into it. Otherwise, it freely stands well on its own.The instructions are confusing, because the illustrations do not match all of the components. They do not include any tools for assembly. I had to gently hammer the base pole, because it did not easily slide into the base ring, and needed a screwdriver to secure the bolts.The hooks and rings do NOT simply fit where you like, as shown in the photos. You need to use the rubber bands to crudely hold them at the level you want, otherwise, the hooks will rest at the respective ends of each pole segment. If you are using this item outdoors, secure the hooks/rings at the level you want with something heavier than the little bands provided.The hooks and rings can easily be rotated after they are secured. Decide the level where you want each, because the lower level can not be moved without disassembling the entire pole.

I love this for use with indoor plants. I had something similar in use inside my house, and although it did the job, it was not as tall and far less sturdy. This, on the other hand, has a sufficiently heavy base that I don't worry about my dog knocking it over when he chases a toy underneath it. It also is at least a foot taller, which made it easier to space the plants than what I previously had.I did as the assembly instructions suggested and put the heaviest pots off the center segment of the pole, using the loop-style hangers. I particularly like that the placements of hangers are customizable and that it was possible to purchase some additional loops and hooks. Also, the optional rubber o-rings are great and I highly recommend their use--the hangers won't slip down the pole (which is an issue I've had with other plant hanging systems). I currently have 6 plants hung from this and would not hesitate to add one or two more.I will say regarding the three loop hangers I have (two of which came with the system, one of which I purchased separately), each is a slightly different size (maybe 0.5-1" difference in diameter), but that is not a problem for me nor does it detract from my use of the system.

I was surprised at how sturdy the yard butler is. The setup was a bit tricky, but overall, it was a great addition to my all-concrete patio.

Very good quality. I set it up in the corner of my back deck and it is beautifull. It feels very sturdy on it's own but I tied it down as a precaution. I took away one star because the bottom pole did not fit into the stand easily and I had to do some work to get it in but it should really go further.

I LIKE THE FACT IT WAS EASY TO ASSEMBLE. LOOKS GREAT!ITS PUT ASSEMBLED RIGHT NOW BUT AT THIS TIME I AM NOT SURE HOW STURDY AND STEADY IT WILL BE TO HOLD THE POTTED PLANTS! I WILL FIND OUT WHEN SPRING AND SUMMER COMES AROUND!IT LOOKS VERY ATTRACTIVE !
