I bought this by mistake thinking it was linoleum. I read the reviews and hesitate to return it, but decided to give it a try. It is much easier/faster to carve. Lines are good and defined. It is not like carving linoleum more like the pink speedball. I typically stain the plate to make it easier to carve. The ink didn’t stay on the plate, so will need to use a different medium. It went through the pressfine and left a good impression. Way easier to carve, way easier to clean up. Overall it is a good alternative to linoleum.

The Lino has a few attributes I consider less desirable. 1. There is no backing so if you are able to adhere it to a block it might perform better. I did not glue it to a block and found it to be thin-ish, and a bit stretchy. 2. And on that note of stretchy-ness, the “Lino†isn’t really Lino, but rather a plastic or vinyl type of material. Wish I knew before ordering it.

This is vinyl/rubber, so if you are a die-hard linoleum fan, be aware. That being said it's stiffer than SpeedyCarve and all the imitators, so this product is a great middle ground if you think traditional lino is too hard, but the pink slabs are too mushy. The ultimate pro for me was how easily I was able to clean my oil based block printing ink off the plate when done; it was a breeze with just dishwashing detergent. The prints are crisp, the solid areas smooth and bold. And you never have to fight the material curling! All in all I will most likely purchase again, since for most carving it responds well. For stipple shading, I'll stick to old-school jute-backed lino.

These say they’re linoleum blocks, but they’re just rubber. Unsuitable for block printing.

I do not particularly care for these. The surface is very smooth, slippery and little harder than I like which makes carving difficult at times. Blockprinting ink needs a softer brayer to stick. It is also fairly thin beware of to carve to deep. Will not order again.

Not a linoleum block and difficult to cut into. Not worth the money.
