I used this with a 2 ton hoist to remove the engine and transmission out of a VW transaxle. Anyone who has ever worked on one knows how tight they're shoved in there, and the limited space you have, most take the front of the car apart and take it out from the front. It wasn't easy but using this leveler and a whole lot of patience I was able to get it out from the top by myself. It's well made and I feel like it should last for several years. The only issue I had was the small nut holding the handle on fell off a couple times, a little red threadlocker will take care of that. Overall fairly impressed.

Had to install a new engine on my 1978 C3 Corvette. This is a 4-speed manual so the easiest way to accomplish this to pull engine and transmission as one. The Corvette does not offer a lot of space so we had to get a good tilt on the engine. There were 3 of us, my son and friend and myself. I think someone could do this with two people and maybe even one taking their time. The leveler was sturdy, easy to adjust and the chains were long enough to get the job done. I highly recommend this tool if removing/installing engines.

This worked great for pulling my engine. Pretty easy to turn the crank handle. Tilted motor nicely. Great quality, better than a more expensive one that I bought and returned.

The crane works great! Although the screw threads for the handle are about 1/8 an in of thread and immediately came off, had to re-design it.

Money wise it is pretty good for the amount but I had to find a good mounting position because I felt as if the chains weren't long enough to fit anywhere. It came almost preassembled. It was pretty easy to use but the bar to adjust sometimes was in the way. Build quality was pretty good besides that point.

I used this to remove and reinstall a big-block Chevy engine with iron heads and an Edelbrock cross-ram into a 1974 Corvette, and it was an absolute BREEZE.This doesn't sound like a big deal, but the cross-ram intake is incredibly difficult to install, it's big, and interferes with the normal 'chain and two bolts' approach. I needed something that wouldn't damage the vintage part, would be sufficiently strong to handle the 700 lbs., AND allow tilting, to get the beast OUT of the car, and then allow me to cleanly mesh the clutch with the manual transmission shaft on reinstallation. In other words, there was zero room to jockey the engine in; there was no room for error. Once everything was ready I had the engine out in 15 minutes, and the installation took about an hour, all told. With jobs like this, it can fight you all day.For a paltry $40, it's the BEST bang for the buck on tools that I've seen in a long time. Bottom line: if you're looking at this, BUY IT. You won't regret it.
