Love the tiles and the case. This a great set to take on the go. The tiles are small and feel nice, still have a good weight to them. The case itself is decent. Its nicer than the cheap felt bag that came with my larger set. My only concern is the case handle, I have had bad experiences with these type of plastic handles breaking, but there are no signs of that yet. Only time will tell if it will hold up.

This mahjong set is very nice, it is my first set I have ever purchased and am quite pleased with it. The tiles were wrapped in 4 "blocks" so they wouldn't shuffle around in shipping. The shipping was good as well. The seller shipped it box in box and the inner box that housed the mahjong set was "encased" with a foam like board material so it did not move at all during shipping. The outer box had some shipping paper to hold the inner box in place. The outer box is a nice thing to do and I appreciate this seller doing that to ensure the safety of my product.The tiles are very nice, uniform, vibrant colored. The characters on the tile are indented into the tile itself so the character will never "rub off", this set does not include any numbers or letters (N, E, S, W) but we all got the hang of it after just playing it once. If you really need the numbers and letters don't let that stop you from buying this set. I was going to buy some little dot stickers to use if I needed to remember but I won't anymore.I don't know what size this would be considered but they stand up on their own just fine and seem to be about the right size for playing on a normal sized coffee table. The dimensions are listed on the item description but I figured I would tell you this anyway.While the tile set is very nice and I am quite happy with them, I will say that the case is a little on the flimsy side, for only spending ~$25 I am not too bothered by this. I think it is pretty much hard cardboard wrapped in thin vinyl. With normal use I expect it to be needing replaced after a few years, sooner if you have rough hands.All in all I am very pleased to have this as my first set and I plan to include pictures.Thank you for reading my review, I hope it helps in your decision to purchase this set as (maybe) your first set too.

Product was very well packaged (see pictures). Each layer of tiles was wrapped in plastic, the dice were in a plastic bag, and the whole case was snugly encased in foam.Looking at the tiles, they are medium sized and relatively light. The characters are engraved and the paint is nice and bright. However, quality control could be improved as there was a tile (see the 9 bamboo picture) that had some chipped paint (left tile was damaged, right tile is intact). There was also a few tiles with some green paint on the side (see picture).The case is a little flimsy, but for the price point, it is fine. I wouldn’t use the handle regularly and will be carrying this carefully via the back anyway.Instructions are clear and easy to read.Would have liked a way to obtain some more blank tiles included in the set too.That all said, this is a very reasonably priced entry level set and even with some of the issues mentioned above, it is a good product. You could always spend more to get higher quality sets, but for $50-$60, you can’t go wrong with this set.

We opened this up on Christmas morning and couldn’t find one missing tile. I emailed the customer help line and got a response 7 minutes later, ON CHRISTMAS DAY! They immediately put another set in the mail which I received just 3 days later. Wow! Will definitely buy from yellow mountain again!!!! The set is also fantastic!

I really wanted a set to play with family and was so glad to find this set as many other sets were outside my budget. The tiles feel great to handle and the color is true to the pictures. They do tip a bit easily when shuffling without pushers. We used old dvd cases in lieu of pushers and that helped them to stop flipping. A few of the tile symbols were different from those pictured in the guide but we figured it out pretty easily. I wasn't sure if my teenagers would be interested but they loved it and even called friends over to join. We played for hours and I think we will get a lot of use from this set.

The pieces are so lovely, good quality and fun to use. The case leaves a lot to be desired as it is a bit flimsy. But the set itself makes up for it.

I purchased this set when I was learning how toPlay Mahjong. The tiles are perfect size, instructions are easy to follow. However, the tiles are not numbered. The dots and bamboo are easy to figure out but the characters takes time to figure out. Other than that, I love it.
