Situation needed extra length and could have purchased short cable and plugged together, but longer almost same cost and eliminated additional connection.

Works if you get even a slight amount of water anywhere on the sensor. So be careful mopping or spraying in an area where it is installed such as in a corner between a basement wall and floor. It will give an immediate alarm if contacted by water or unplugged. Great device for early warning!

I'm so glad they sell these extensions. I used the water leak detector 2 in the laundry room and needed a longer cable so I could wrap around supply lines and near drain tube. The additional cable meant I didn't need multiple hard to reach leak detectors. I highly recommend the Yolink leak detector system. I use their bulldog valve robot and several other sensors for doors, garage and vibration to protect tools/car. Easy system to install. Takes some time to learn how to program correctly but YouTube videos are everywhere.

Of the 5 cables I bought to get wider sensory coverage, one had a break and exposed wires near the male connector end. It was causing no detection of water leak.

After getting units, set up was breeze. Scan code on device, 5min max and it was operational. After examining sensors port, determined it was simply a headphone 2 conductor size port, ordered a Y cable and was able to split water sensor cables out in two directions. One under water heater in apt, other running into bathroom. Have basically same setup in kitchen, one under sink, +Y, other leg runs under dishwasher.Get instant text updates upon any liquid hitting sensor cable.

I have other water sensors already and they have been working well. I purchased more sensors to complete the system. I do like that the system is self contained.

registers alarm quickly with a small amount of water. You have to let it dry before using again. Dries fairly quickly. BE CAREFUL NOT TO COMPRESS IT (do not step on it or slide an appliance over it or it will break)
