Your cart is empty.This long reach core box router bit has a cutting diameter of 1/2" and a cutting length of 1-1/4". The shank is 1/4". Core box bits have rounded tips that are perfect for routing channels in cutting boards and producing flutes in columns using solid wood or MDF. Our core box bits are available in various diameters, with a choice of 1/4" and 1/2" shanks. The smaller shank diameter works well in laminate trimmers, while the 1/2" shanks are ideal for deep cuts with full-size routers.

I needed this size to core out wood to hold 1/2" copper pipe and it worked great. Seems very durable.

I had previously routed flutes in oak newel posts with disappointing results in that there were burn marks at the ends of the flutes, requiring a difficult cleanup. I used a fence as a guide. Having a new set of posts to do I decided to make a template for routing, thus the need for a bit with a guide bearing. At the end of routing 96, 20" flutes I had none of the burning problem I had before.

We're building a ply over frame wood boat and used this router bit to round the corners of the center channel of the frames, shown on photos. The Yonico 14965q 3/4-Inch Diameter Core Box Template Router Bit worked as expected making sharp, well defined radii. We were able to precisely and rapidly round all 22 edges with this bit in short order. We highly recommend this drill bit for all types of woodwork where a consistent, quality 3/4" radius is required.

Used this bit for 10 seconds and it was already dull and burning the wood. I was using on hard maple though, maybe it would last longer on soft pine..... Ended up getting a better one at the local big box store that worked great.

Do not buy this product. It has just ruined a very expensive item I was making.The cutter is supposed to be 1/4" shank, it isn't! I only found this out after it slipped from the collect and cutter much deeper than it should. Upon retrospectively using my micrometer I found that the shaft measured 6.28mm and not 6.4mm this meant that the cutter could not be gripped sufficiently to operate properly.I will not buy any more Yonico router cutters.
