I was skeptical, but this is a very hefty, strong machine. And it can crush. Power isn't lacking at all, this little machine feels like it has strength to spare as it crushes cans easily. The results are very flattened cans, whether you want to organize your trash better or just enjoy crushing things, this will do the job just fine. The only complaint is that the automatic button doesn't seem to work most of the time, I don't see how to do it differently, but most of the time, that won't make the machine start. Holding the forward button does works fine. I don't have a lot of cans to crush, so doing things manually is fine, but if you stack cans in this and want to run it automatically, that could be an issue. Button aside, the machine feels very well built, and is heavier than expected.

The kids and adults love it because it's fun and the kids also love it because it reduces the amount of recycling in the bin (garbage is their chore).
