This kit is nicer than I was expecting. The palette is well made, and the plastic feels good quality: sturdy and smooth. It opens easily, and flipping out the wells feels very nice. It is clearly well designed to fit so much in such a tiny package that doesn't feel flimsy at all. It is tiny when all folded up and closed. It is very easy to put in your pocket; I could probably fit a few of them in my pocket.The metal clip has a magnet on the back, and there is a little circle of metal that you can stick on the back of the palette. This way you can easily snap the clip onto the palette or take it off. I see artists on Instagram using something like this and clipping it to their tiny watercolor pads. It's great if you need ultimate portability.The included paintbrushes are nice, but of course they are longer and a little less portable than the palette. The waterbrush is one of the short ones, so that is about as portable as you can get. The cloth bag included is huge compared to the palette, but a good size for brushes and maybe some watercolor paper or a pad. Of course, I really got this for the tiny palette, but it is nice to have a mostly complete kit. While the colors included in the palette may not be what I would choose if I only had nine colors, the pigment is strong, and the cakes are a standard large size that would be easy to refill. Many travel palettes come with like a hundred tiny cakes, so it is nice to keep it simple. The cakes are glued in, so if you want to change them, you'll have to get the glue off.

Useful for "en plein air" painting or sketching.The colors in this set will enable the artist to mix most colors seen in life, assuming the artist is painting on a white paper.The paints are "student grade" but still will give a good range of mixed colors. A beginning student might get frustrated until they learn how to mix their colors. Thinning the colors with water and painting over a white paper will lighten them. It will be easy to mix nice. dark blacks and browns.A good watercolor travel palette. This palette along with a sketchbook and a couple of water brushes will be quite useful.

This is my review of YPLUS Pocket Watercolor Paint Set.When you take a product, any product, and attempt to make it smaller and more portable, you finally get to the point where it so small that it is essentially unusable. In my opinion, the designers of this watercolor set have struck a great balance between compactness and functionality.This is a cute little watercolor set that holds nine colors. Plus, you get one water brush, two regular brushes, and a cloth bag to carry everything in. It is small enough to carry in a shirt or coat pocket, and when it is open, you have two mixing trays that fold out. Finally, you get a magnetically attached clasp that can be used to clip the set to your artboard. They pretty much thought of everything.My biggest complaint is the choice of colors. Plus, they did not include a black or a white. However, to be honest, every artist has a certain set of colors that they think are “essential†to their set. I did notice that the color cakes are of a standard size, so conceivably you could replace a color with one you use more often. Although they are glued in place, I successfully removed two with the point of a palette knife and replaced them with a black and a white cake. I am not recommending you do that, and it did not impact my review of the product. But, it also means that when you run out of a particular color cake, you can replace it.The colors, pigment wise, are of average (student) quality and do a good job covering the paper. Same thing is to be said for the brushes, average quality, but they do get the job done.Bottom LineA nice kit and the perfect stocking stuffer for the budding artist, or the adult who just wants a set of colors on hand when they are out-and-about.

The color palette here is so great. I have an artist friend who is particular about her paint sets, and she really liked this little thing and the colors it contained. It's so tiny and the fact that it comes with a clip is just next-level thoughtfulness. Clearly this was made by artists.

Die Qualität der Farben überzeugt mich nicht, ich habe etwas besseres erwartet, aber für Reise Skizzen reichst noch.Die Mischpalette, die rechts angebracht ist empfinde ich unbequem, da ich mit der Rechte Hand male, ist die Palette im Weg, wenn ich hellblaue Farbe aufnehmen will, wäre besser, wenn diese Mischpalette links wäre. Magnet hält gut. Kasten hat bequeme Größe für Reisemalerei.
