Reel worked well with no issues. Reel came with line, but I relined with 30 LB Spider Wire. It cast and reel in with no issues. I have other Zebco reels, and all have worked great with no issues. Thats why I went with Zebco. Works as advertised right out of the box.

Quality is fair for the price. Would recommend it for casual or beginner fishing. Easy to use. Based on the significant use of plastic materials, I don’t expect great long term durability. If you plan to fish much, I would recommend moving up in quality and price point.

Built sturdy. I like it and I've caught several channel cats with it. BUT when casting make sure the crank doesn't move any during the cast. If it does jar a bit from the swing of your cast, the line take up pin will pop in play and your cast will freeze and fall mid way out. Sometimes 10 feet or so away. Not good but solved if you make bracing your hand around the crank handle a part of your casting technique.

I got this reel for my grandson liked so much I bought 2 more. I think it will be great has a smooth cast.

I was able to catch and land 20lb channel catfish with no difficulty! Had 2 other reels stripped fishing in same spot! Love this reel!😄😎

It's a fantastic spincast reel. But it's much larger than most spincast reels, and could be hard to find suitable rods.I've ended up shelving it for now and gone for much smaller 33's from the same company. These arrive tomorrow.I'll see whether the one reviewed here is suitable for my old beach rods. Not quite the correct style of rod, but this reel is heavy duty and well made and could be at its best for me as a surf reel.
