I wanted to use this my peterson HD strobo plus metronome because the speaker on that broke and after it broke originally I was using a rechargeable speaker and I thought that was too loud so that's why I wanted to go with this one because it wasn't powered. It turns out that I'm better off using the speaker that I have to charge. The sound is very faint It must be a very very tiny speaker. The only sound I could get it to respond to from my metronome was the high pitched beep and I don't like that.

I had a similar unit years ago. I was glad to find this one. It works great for listening to talk radio early in the morning without disturbing my wife next to me

Works just like I need. Only problem is after 6 months the wire tends to break at the speaker or the plug (after all, it has to put up with all my restless movement). But at such a cheap price, I just order a couple of them so I always have a backup.

It works just as you'd expect. Slightly tinny sound with no base, but adequate volume even through a thick pillow. Cord is a bit short and I kept finding it pulled my phone onto the floor, but there are extension cords sold that would fix that. It's very hard plastic and you do need to keep one side up to hear it.

Sending this back....if you are poor and have great hearing, not rough on your stuff. this MIGHT be for you. This pos is going back. Built as cheap as possible. Probably cost a dollar to make.
