I purchased this for my 55 gallon tank that I've just set up recently and I think it looks great. It's very thick and sturdy and I think it was a great price for what you get. I included pictures with measuring tape so you can see about how big it is, for me it was a perfect size. There are 2 holes on the bottom, probably from the molding it came out of. If you get this for a fish tank, make sure to turn it over and let it fill with water so it doesn't float. It does come with a slight chemical smell, but if you just take a soft bristle toothbrush and some light antibacterial (preferably unscented) soap and give it a good scrub in every crevice and rinse thoroughly, it goes away. All in all a great purchase for reptiles or fish.

I was most pleased when I took this out of the box. The size is perfect, it has a good weight to it so I don't have to worry about it not sitting right on the bottom of the tank. I love the appearance and it will give my turtle some privacy when he/she wants it.

I bought this for my tortoise recently, and I found it very durable and sturdy. My tortoise actually really loves it. Perfect for a little tortoise however I do think when he gets a little bit bigger, I will have to upgrade. As the opening isn’t as wide as it looks. Unfortunately this rock is only meant for smaller reptiles. So I highly recommend you look into the dimensions beforehand.

This is such a nice piece! ~ I’ll try to get a picture later because right now I have a mbuno cichlid intent on taking over my crawfish’s hiding spot ~ so I had to make shift a door because for whatever reason the crawfish seems to prefer this thing and I think he’s about to molt lol ~ with that said ~ I didn’t pay the full price ~ I actually found one for less w/ free shipping in guc ~ ~ however it arrived with tags ~ I didn’t know amazon did that sorta thing but rather than tossing the returns out the window ~ they should inspect them and offer this (especially with this sorta stuff) let’s face it! Aquarium deco is overpriced (especially if it’s nice) ~ I was very pleased with it straight outta box | but once inside the tank it’s even nicer! Looks like real rock ~ very heavy ~ I’m going to by some Sierra rocks to add to my landscaping in a 75 gallon ~ ~ last I checked there was another one online for $10 less ~ so if the price is a bit much ~ check that listing out!

I initially bought this for a fish tank, that was a mistake. I should have read the description and other reviews more closely. It is not meant to be underwater and could potentially harm your fish if residue or chemicals are coming off of it. When I stuck it in the water I noticed this quickly and removed it. However, if this is being used for it's intended purpose of reptiles I think it is great! Ended up giving it to a friend for her little turtle and he loves it! It's sturdy and the perfect edition to his space. Also easy to clean. Just keep in mind the size if you have a larger reptile this small be a bit small.

Has a very strong chemical smell. I've washed and scrubbed it and it still has strong smell. Have it sitting outside to sun bake to see if that helps. Was very good price though.

My little girl loves to climb and even bask on this rock. It’s sturdy, nice base to height ratio.As fast as she is growing however I’m not sure how well she will fit on it soon 😂, it will however become part of her new enclosure and I may even buy a second one to match up to the one I already have to make a bigger space for her since she seems to really like this rock.

I bought this because I upgraded to a bigger tank for my betta and wanted to give him a nice cave to swim through and hide in. The first thing I noticed was the HORRIBLE chemical smell that I could detect before I even fully opened the box. Second, it's not shale (like advertised), it's spray painted plastic. Because it would've looked perfect in my fish tank, I decided to soak it overnight in water to see if it would remove the smell. After soaking for more than 12hrs, it smelled just as strong as when I first unboxed it. No way was I putting this thing in my fish tank. I wouldn't even use this in a non-aquatic animal habitat. This is definitely NOT "safe" and "non-toxic" as advertised! Don't waste your time or money and definitely don't compromise your pet's health by buying this craptastic, faux rock cave.

Purchased this decor to used as a hideaway. The build quality is amazing, packaging was really good as well. Design is also great but would have loved some creases so you can attach some moss on it. But overall it's a great product and will highly recommend this. Found a way to attach a moss...
