  • Burr-Free Drilling: The tooth-shaped design of these high-speed steel Forstner bits minimizes friction and heat, delivering clean, smooth holes with excellent chip removal.Ideal for various woodworking and crafting needs.
  • High-Quality Alloy Steel: Crafted from high-hardness alloy steel, these Forstner drill bits provide outstanding precision and corrosion resistance, ensuring long-lasting durability and reliable performance.
  • Accurate Centering: Featuring a centering point, ZKH Forstner drill bits guide the bit for precise drilling, reducing the risk of wandering and ensuring accurate hole placement.
  • Versatile Applications: Perfect for drilling through wood, plastic, plywood, MDF, and furniture parts. Note: Not suitable for metal or non-ferrous materials.
  • Optimal Drilling Technique: For the best results with Forstner drill bits, ensure the drilling process remains vertical and use a vise to stabilize the material for a smooth, accurately sized hole. Start with a slow drilling speed until the bit is properly aligned, then gradually increase speed.

I recently added this Forstner bit to my toolset for a project at home, and overall, it’s been a great addition. The bit cuts through wood smoothly and delivers clean, precise holes with every use. I’ve worked with both softwood and hardwood, and it handles both materials very well, leaving minimal tear-out.Although I haven’t had to cut many holes with it yet, it’s been holding up well to the regular use I’ve put it through. The sharpness of the bit seems to be holding strong, and I haven’t encountered any issues with it becoming off-centered, which is always a concern with bits of lower quality.Overall, I would definitely recommend this Forstner bit to anyone looking to add a reliable, high-performance bit to their toolset. It’s proven itself to be durable and effective, and for the price, it’s a solid investment.

Forstner bits are great and this one works quite well. These bits are useful if you need to drill a hole that is too deep (or is not a through hole). These also have far better control than normal drill bits, especially in situations where the bit itself is not fully on the piece. There are no other options for that sort of drilling as anything else not through a template will have bit wandering.Forstner bits give perfect sides on the hole, and also means you can use a template to guide it without damaging or drilling into the template itself. The primary downside vs a hole saw is you are eating through all the material with the drill bit rather than just the outer circumference. The bit has a reduced shaft diameter which makes it easy to fit in standard chucks. Case is also nice if you have no where else to keep it.

It's a regular forstner bit, it works. The price was good compared to equivalnet bits and it functions just as well as others I've had over the years. The size is accurate as stated.

I ordered this to add to my woodworking shop. I love a good Forstner bit and ordered this one to use to cut out space for cups to use for Beer Flight Sampler trays. The bit cut easily into the wood and left a smooth finish which only required minimal sanding afterwards. I cut 15 trays with 5 slots in each and did not see any degredation in the bits cutting ability from the first to the last drilled spot. The bit seems to be holding it's sharpness and I did not have any issues with burning into the wood.I am pleased and would buy additional bits in other sizes from this manufacturer without hesitation. Price seems quite reasonable for a single bit, especially if you need a unique size that is not included in a set you might purchase.

Not as advertised. To the people writing the reviews before I bought this bit: This is NOT a carbine tipped bit! How can you miss that important fact when "reviewing" a product????

In spite of the headline, this is a simple HSS bit, not carbide tipped.

Chucked this new 2" diameter bit in my 40-year-old Craftsman drill press, still set at extremely low speed from having recently bored some thick steel with a carbide bit and Boelube. Believe it's a piece of Penta-treated scrap wood I drilled (pictured). Cut smoothly, no wobble. Hole sides not raggedy. If I had drilled until the spur poked through and flipped the board and drilled from the other side, I have no doubt that I would have had a perfectly drilled hole with no ragged edges on either side. I have paid as much as $50-60 dollars for a single Forstner suitable for a clock insert so a quality bit of this size is a bargain in comparison. The manufacturer claims that this bit can be used to cut fiberboard, PVC, aluminiumsplater(sic) and some substrate called kryssfiner whgich seems to be a kind of engineered plywood. My advice is to stick to softwoods like southern yellow pine and hardwoods like white oak if you want to maintain tool sharpness for a much longer period of time unless you are an expert at sharpening Forstener bits. Hardly anyone left who sharpens saw blades. Chances of finding anyone to sharpen a dull Forstner bit if you can't is slim to none.
