I had to return one due to the motor being stripped, not a problem, they were helpful and fast in facilitating that. They work decently, one color per square, so no RGB lights, but bright. Fairly light and quiet. Dmx into each other works great with a cable. Menu is a little poor, but usable. Instructions are in Chenglish. My main complaint is when you let the lights go idle in sound mode, they sweep, and I wish you could just set them to go black until sound is produced again. Overall not bad for the price, but definitely not for heavy daily use or professional venues. I doubt they would survive a single drop, but not a bad build quality at this price point.

I've had this for a couple years now and have used it regularly. It has worked reliably in the time I've owned it, although I do not use the motorized aspect of the lights that much. However, when I do use the motors, they work.

I have a 1200$ martin rush mh5 and although this product doesnt quite match up it is still a great little powerhouse with an effective mechanic. The preprogrammed shows that move the light to the beat of the music are great and they incorperate plenty of strobing which imo is the best effect of any dj light.

I really liked these and was hoping they'd last. One stopped working the second time I used it, unfortunately it was passed thirty days but less than a year. I won't buy another one. I am a DJ and need reliable equipment.

Could only get it to work via sound response. Unable to get them to daisy-chain with XLR or DMX cables. The mounting is 90 degrees off for mounting on a light stand.

I have 5 "UKING" spider lights, those I have purchased on ebay from multiple sellers have all needed to be re-soldered wires to led's, stepper motors not working or they slam against the metal housing when they rotate some of them did not last a 12 hour dj stream on twitch..... This product however I purchased 2 a month ago and immediately noticed that the quality in build, brightness and patterns (auto) were 100% better... Also when you master/slave them just xlr 1 to another (no controller) they automatically link up which was an unexpected and pleasant surprise.... For the price, These are fantastic! I just ordered 4 more.... when it is affordable I will buy 2 more actually. Hope this helps others.

This is the good one you want. It's heavier and better built. It's not the cheaper version. I have over 20 of these now. Spectacular.

As the title of this review states... this particular version of the Mini Spider LED light is actually made mostly of metal (which is a good thing imo). Even the mounting bracket that is used to connect the light to a truss system, tripod "T" pole, is also made from metal. Only the two end caps covering the stepper motors are molded plastic. Overall it's a well built light for the price I paid (it was on sale with a coupon). Please note that there are other sellers on Amazon that have similar "Mini Spider lights" for sale. A few of them are selling lights that are NOT made mostly of metal. Their lights are mostly plastic. I know, because I bought some Mini Spider lights from two other Amazon sellers and I quickly returned them when I saw that they were made mostly from plastic. Those plastic versions were around the same price as this metal one, but they don't have the same durability, or the ability to properly cool off the high powered LED's inside their case's, because their plastic housing material just can't dissipate the heat given off by those high output LED's like a metal enclosure can. If the LED's can't be cooled properly, it cam quickly lead to a shortened life span. I have attached a picture showing the difference between the light sold by this seller (mostly made of metal), vs the mostly plastic version sold by some other Amazon sellers. If you're looking to purchase a Mini Spider light here on Amazon, the type of mounting bracket is a dead giveaway. You can also read the light's description carefully before buying it. If you still have any questions, message the seller directly to clarify the build material.Anyway, as for how this Mini Spider light actually works, the master/slave mode (which I think most people will use, because it's easy to set up and looks good), has a pretty decent sound/sync function. The sound detection levels for the mic is pretty accurate, and the sensitive works well for even moderately loud music. As for the light's speed/movement when reacting to music, I was kinda surprised by how fast it can be during loud sounds, and also how smooth and slow the light were when reacting to quieter sound levels. The light's digital menu might take some getting used to for some people, but overall most of the things a you'd want from a DMX controllable light are in there, including a mirror/reverse mode, which btw helps make the light's patterns seem more interesting/complex over the factory mirror setting. I would say that if you have other DMX lights in your set up (or even some "dumb" ones), and the area you are going to use these Mini Spider lights in is 2000 square feet or less, imo, two of these lights will do. You will get plenty light of coverage once they are angled correctly. If you want a bigger "wow factor", get four of them and put one in each corner of the room connected with some DMX cables (in master/slave mode). You can see demo's of these lights here on Amazon and you tube (2 lights, or 4).One last thing.... since I've seen a few people ask this question... this version of the Mini Spider light has 2 red, 2 white, 2 blue and 2 green coloured LED's inside the two moving side pods (each side pod contains one of each colour). This is NOT an RGB or RGBW version of the Spider moving head light. That version (where each individual LED can do multiple colours, or... all 8 lights are the same colour at the same time), is around double the price, and the casing is bigger and heavier than this mini version. (If this review was helpful to you, please give it a like so that others will see it. Thanks.)

Like the unit, little problem due to shipping, support plate was bend and touching one side of one moving unit, not a big deal to fix, it does the job allright, it is a bit saller than I tought but still nice size. Of course it is not proffessional but it is fairly well build inside. I will buy another one for a better light effect !

Très belle effet, je l'utilise sur sond plutôt que sur DMX parce que ça fais la job. J'utilise le pattern 9.
