These are my second logs I’ve gotten, I bought the first one at least seven years ago, so I was concerned that the product quality might have changed. It hasn’t!With the naturalistic texture, they’re not the easiest to clean (and if you scrub them hard, as was necessitated by an algae explosion, you can rub the color off), but minding your tank’s conditions and just rinsing and wiping regularly keeps them clean.The first log is still going, so they’re long lasting! After it’s original owner passed, a half moon male, I decided to go with a sorority. They don’t like to share, though, so buying two was a great deal. Now everyone gets their own log in different places around the 70gl tank. The other inhabitants love them too! The longfin zebra danios chase each other through them, a few of the emerald corydoras enjoy lounging in there, and the snails and algae eaters even go in. So, not just for the betta ladies!Be sure your tank is sized appropriately for the product, and water flow is soft; they obviously float, high water flow, especially in a small tank, might present a hazard for fish being knocked into or trapped. Because my fish have preferred them to remain in one place (floating but not free-floating and drifting), I’ve had mine anchored by attaching them to the top edge of the tank. No line or wires inside the water, log still floats and has soft movement, but the log doesn’t run away slowly over the ensuing week. If you’re worried about safety or your fish aren’t using it much, try that.Highly recommend the Zoo Med Floating Betta Log! All the fish have something fun and relaxing in their environment, and they’re so much fun to watch when happy. You can even use the feeding hole at the top to act like a feeding ring!

This is a classic item for most Betta owners. It takes a little while for new Bettas to get used to it but once they do, you will find them in it often. They float great, are a perfect size and are made well! Get your Betta his logs!

I have 6 bettas, each in their own 5 gal tank. I ordered 3 sets of 2 logs. The price is great when you have a lot of finned buddies.4 of them immediately were curious and investigated the new intruder (the log) in their tanks.The other 2 are ignoring it so far.Both reactions are normal. One betta took a month to use a suction cup tunnel I added, but loves it now. So, don't be discouraged if you have a more cautious betta.So far of the more curious bettas, one of mine loves to lounge in it, the other 3 like to swim through it.If you have a stronger filter flow, find a good spot in the tank so it's not being pushed around by the current. Had that issue with one of my tanks, and got it sorted out shortly after.I would suggest going over any sharp parts with a nail file, as there were some on them, but not all of them.All 6 of the logs arrived in good condition, none were broken, or had an off smell. One had what felt and looked like black sand come off it when rinsing it, but seems to have no negative effects.I've kept bettas on and off for the last 20years, and this is the first time I've ever bought these.Just know that some bettas will use it right away, others could take a month to adjust to the new log. Each betta has its own little personality.

I bought these for my Betta fish who have now passed along. My beta still love them while they were here; now my shrimp have claimed them as their own. These are versatile and many different aquatic friends love them.

Love these logs and so do my bettas, I bought one a few months back in December no problems but this pack was squishy?? I didn’t return or make a claim but it was really weird? I would definitely wash it before putting it in the tank and remove any flakey parts, size is good, big for the bettas but my king betta fits perfectly, they can turn around and everything, like a king size bed, looks great in the water and see my fish always sleeping or hanging out inside.

All of the fish love this silly log. Not so much the inside immediately but the outside as a scratching hiding place. Love the feeding hole which allows for food as well as floating red leaf plants. Also the log with the roots from the plants make a great nest. They’ve warmed up quickly to the inside as well.Just spend the money and quit looking for other options.

Items came well packaged but sadly items were delayed. Thankfully Amazon give me a shipment refund due to this issue. I’m excited to use these floating logs I got for my new tank. Planning on having a red male betta but I’m not to sure yet since it’s still cycling.

My betta fish loves his floating log. It floats nicely, looks nice. He started using it right away and he usually checks things out for a few days before trying any of his new toys. Love it!

I bought two of these but if you do the stocking test on them they're both covered inside and out with sharp edges. After a lot of sanding with fine-grit sandpaper I still haven't been able to make them smooth enough to be safe.
