I've bought other fixtures before that claim to be able to zoom, to give you the ability to adjust the size and intensity of the beam of light on the wall. But those just adjust the aperture and go from a fuzzy light pattern to a fuzzier pattern. To contrast, these have a real zoom by adjusting the distance between lenses. I have them zoomed as far as they can go to give as tight a light pattern as possible, for lighting pictures that are far from the track, mostly on stairways where the track doesn't go.The remote is a mixed blessing for setting the color temperature. Sometimes you want all the lights to be the same color, and sometimes you want to emphasize certain colors in one area more than another. With the remote control, all lights change color together, in synchrony. You can't adjust the color of the lights individually, or without the remote.

I originally thought these lights were larger. I kept one of the 10 packs and sent the other one back. These are bright enough to use in a smaller area but not on a large scale. These are functional for a closet or for a kitchen. Very easy to use and install. Overall good value and good quality

I got another set of these for a different place (white color), and wrote a glowing positive review. I didn't feel the need to test this set as thoroughly before installing because everything about it is the same except that these are black. Here is my review of the other set:I'm actually delighted by this set of lights. They are just what they say they are, and, ah, more...The connectors are properly formed, with correct springiness of the main contacts, and good rounding of the ground contact. The spring clips move easily and latch securely. These points may seem silly to make a big deal of, but I've dealt with hundreds of these track cans from many different vendors over the years, and a lot of them are not done correctly as these are. These are for modern common "H" tracks. In addition to the incompatible 2-conductor "J" and "L" tracks mentioned in the compatibility part of this web page, there are older 3-conductor tracks that look very similar to the H tracks to the casual observer, but those are thinner/shallower - the plug part of an H lamp like these won't fully insert and the tabs will not align. The beam angle is adjusted by easily rotating the inner barrel on the front of the lamp. It contains a plastic Fresnel lens, like an old fashioned Lighthouse. It turns easily and there are markings for various beam angles up from 15 - 18 - 25 - 38 - 60 degrees. At the widest angles, the patch of light is fairly even across the majority of it; it is not extra bright in the middle. However, there is some center brightness in the middle of the zoom range, at say 25 degrees. At the narrowest spot angle, the light intensity is rather dim. The lamps are best used at wider angles. The remote controls work SOLO, on their own, without some ghastly phone app!!!!The intensity buttons on the top and bottom of the ring shaped button DO turn the lamps up and down continuously, not in wide steps like many LED products. Likewise, the color temperature button on the left and right of the ring change the color gradually. For a first test I used only one lamp, and after messing with it a while using the remote control, I turned it off and added 2 more lamps to the bar. When I turned the power back on, to my surprise, all three lamps came on at moderate intensity with the color a bit warmer than the 4000K setting, which was where I had it with one lamp when I turned it off. Using the remote from there made all three change in perfect synchrony. Most impressive! The only downside of what I received is that the tiny page of product info was very terse and didn't give full instructions. I had no idea what the central button with the WiFi logo meant. This web pages says it is "Match Code with Lights'. Errr, OK. Fortunately another reviewer has posted detailed instructions about how to associate a given remote with a particular set of lamps. [Power On-Off-On + remote ON to deselect it, then On-Off-On + remote Match Code to select it for a subset]. So you can use the two remotes on different sets of bars even if they are both in range. In my test setup, the remote worked at ~30 feet line of sight with ease.I used my Kill-A-Watt to see that the wattage was in actual use. At full on, three lamps were using 30 watts, so 10 watts each. In "Night light" mode they were together 5 watts, so less than 2 watts apiece. At full power, the cans do get somewhat warm, but not dangerously hot (116 degrees F at 10W after a while). At "half" power which is to say dimmed down some, they are only just a little warm (96 degrees F at 5W).Bottom line: These are really nice. Longevity is unknown of course, particularly for the remotes, but for now they are excellent. The set may seem expensive in aggregate, but if you look at the price of individual lamps at the big box store, this set is really great value given the features like the remote with color tuning.

Great idea with one major flaw - these have no memory of the color temp you set, and default to a cold 4000K when energized. So if you planned to set the color temp to something warm and have a circuit turn off/on at a switch, good luck. Who wants to walk in a room and find the remote and set the color temp 10 times a day? We bought this for our primary dressing area. This would work in a retail setting where the lights are powered on once a day. If there is a secret way to default the color temp - please let me know. The zoom and non-flicker and build quality is spot on and I am an original LED installer from the mid-90s with Color Kinetics, the company Phillips bought for their IP.

These track lights are marketed as zoomable, but I just call them spot lights. They are easy to point and highlight an area once installed. Lights are bright and the included remotes are helpful. They function as they should and are a good value for the set.

I had some 25 year old track lights that needed replacing. The old large cans had some of their plastic stems broken so new heads were needed. I thought the changeout would be simple, but I discovered the old tracks were not standard. The old track had a slightly narrower width such that the new lights would not work. So I bought new tracks for the new lights. This was more work than I expected, but be aware that old tracks may not be the same as the newer ones.
