My daughter uses this jacket to play in the snow and it keeps her warm and dry in temps around 30 degrees. She has room to grow and I like that I can wash it. I bought it big to try and stretch 2 seasons of use at least out of it.

It's unfortunate that this jacket is marketed for girls because, other than being purple, there is nothing specifically "girl" about it. My son has loved purple forever and this his second purple winter jacket. The images make it look like it has black accents but they are actually a very dark purple. This jacket runs BIG. My kiddo is pretty average size for 7 years so I got him the size 8 (for 6-8 years) and it is really big on him - like two inches past the tips of his fingers - but it will definitely fit him for another couple seasons so that's ok. He loves the fleece-lined hood and he says it keeps him warn, even when the temps dip below 10F.
