They don't have grooves between each pin but can still be cut to size.

I would pay more for reliability on more critical projects. These are extremely sloppy which led me to regularly question whether they were making good contact during debug sessions. I will likely use these again for the price savings, but for more permanent or more critical installs I'll go with a reputable manufacturer (Samtec or similar).

examined connectors from this source with those that sold 30/$8.99 with macro scope as far as i can see they are the same part in construction. 0.69/unit or 0.30/unit... buy carefully..

These risers fit solderable breadboards so you can make custom setups for most ESP32 or 8266 boards. Super easy to solder into place. Be careful cutting to size, make them alittle longer since they will tend to break at the nearest pin hole.
