I love mangoes, but I don’t buy them very often because it’s so messy to handle. I usually buy frozen mango chunks instead. But now that I’ve tried This mango slicer it works great and I love having fresh mango to eat. It’s 80% less messy and easy to use. I would recommend it to anyone who likes to eat fresh mango.

Ok so. I've never cut a mango before and typically get my husband to do it for me. However, he always complains about how much he hates cutting them. Since we live in the age of technology, I said buy a tool to cut it then. He said no such thing exists. I was skeptical of that because everything exists! Sure enough, I found this tool and it sliced right through my mango with ease and basically zero waste! It was efficient, quick, didn't slip and I felt it's a decent value due to how much time it saves. Thrilled with this purchase and recommend to anyone if you're on the fence. It absolutely works and you won't regret it.

Tested it out in front of my family. We watched, mouths literally agape, as this thing cored a mango like slicing through butter. It was viscerally satisfying, and simplified a process that would normally take 8 grueling minutes (and leave our kitchen looking like an orange, sticky murder scene.) Left a bit of meat on the bones, sure--a small price to pay for escaping a fruity, sisyphean hell.I have no excuse to not make sticky rice now. Highly recommend this product.

Bottom line: If you enjoy ðŸ¥ðŸ¥, I think that you will enjoy this mango slicer.Summary:: Social media and Amazon algorithms give me some really off the wall recommendations. For example, they have recommended a multicolored toilet light, clothes for pet chicken (I don’t have a pet chicken), all kinds of cosmetics and personal hygiene product that I don’t need or can’t afford (like a $1K+ hair removal system). Of all the things recommended to me, I was never once recommended a mango slicer. I didn’t even know they existed! Now that I have one, I do not understand why one wasn’t t recommended to me earlier. If anyone needs this mango slicer, I do.I eat mangoes as if the last mango tree on earth will stop producing fruit tomorrow. But I HATE cutting them. My left hand is challenged due to carpal tunnel tunnel like problems and mangoes are slick. I forever worry about cutting my hand while cutting them and presliced fresh mangoes are pricey. This slicer has been AMAZING for me! 👉ðŸ¾It is not perfect, though.👈🾠I have bent one or two of the tiny teeth as I learned how to position the slicer to not hit the seed. I unbent them…but there is a tiny I’ve gotten a ton better, but I’m not perfect. But overall, this slicer is so useful for me. I will definitely buy this again once this one reaches the end of its lifespan or it gets dull (becaue I do not see a way to sharpen it). 👉ðŸ¾RATING EXPLANATION👈ðŸ¾The reason for the four stars:: I don’t know how long it will last because of the bent teeth or inability to sharpen it. But for now, I love it and it’s getting lots of use. I have put some mileage on this thing. Also, there is a learning curve for use. If you don’t position the slicer well, you cut into the mango seed. Depending on how much force you use, you will bend the tiny teeth on the blade or you can get the slicer stuck in the seed and you have to kinda pry it loose.

Once you figure out how to use this, and based on some of the reviews I read, I don't think people are using it correctly. The fact is that it does work great at removing the skin after you've sliced it. It is a bit of a slow process, but better than anything else we've tried. Yes, this model won't work on larger mangos. There are larger slicers available. And, it sometimes leaves more meat on the bone than you'd like. Both of these are small trade offs. This was an excellent purchase. We'll soon be buying a larger one for larger mangos. Unfortunately, that will have to be another brand because I didn't find a larger model sold by Zyliss.

I have a weekend job cutting fruit for a national grocery chain. I bought one of these units because cutting mangoes is a pain in the ass, and I wanted to simplify my life a little bit, if possible.Honestly, I didn't expect much, so I didn't get my hopes too high. Kitchen gadgets always seem to leave you a little (or a lot) disappointed. However, I'm glad to say that I'm completely satisfied with this purchase. It does what I need it to do and it does it well.I always read the bad reviews on a product I'm considering buying, so I saw quite a few people saying that it doesn't work, that it smashed their fruit, that they never got a good cut, and it was a waste of money. Nonsense. The only thing I can imagine is that these people simply didn't understand how to use it right and/or possibly suffered some form of brain injury in the past. I did see a picture a customer uploaded that showed they had set the mango in the base sideways. Yeah... that's not gonna work.I would say that I get a perfect cut around the pit 70% of the time. You WILL skim the side of the pit often. However, it's not that big of a deal. The small amount of material left behind can be easily peeled away with your fingertips. And the curve of the blade gains you more actual fruit than a straight knife blade will. One thing that doesn't work as advertised is using the base to scoop the fruit from the rind. I mean.... it kinda works.... but not really. You can get a good start on it, and it will get you all excited because it seems to be working like a champ. And then the nose of the mango meets the table and all progress stops. Should I dock a star for that? Meh... I don't think so. The base adds so much value to this tool in terms of stabilizing the fruit to be cut, that I'll let that one slide.Would I buy this for just my personal use? I guess if I ate a lot of mangoes, I might. But I don't. For the occasional mango, you could get by with just a knife. But if you're processing 25-30 mangoes at a time like I do, it will save you a LOT of time.

There are a lot of cheaper options out there but they are cheap! This is top quality and does a way better job than any other one that I've tried. I was so impressed that I bought one as a gift as well. The idea of using the orange part as a way to scoop out the flesh is not so good. You're better off using a spoon. I slice the flesh in the skin into cube sizes first and then spoon it out and then I freeze a ton.

Corta parte del hueso, es difÃcil no hacerlo y ya que lo logras, se desperdicia mucho mango. Solo sirve para quitar la piel de mango paraiso, otras delgadas las rompe. No me parece práctico.

This is a great two-piece kit for slicing Mangos. The bottom half holds the Mango steady whilst you slice and peel the fruit with the bladed part. Very substantial and well worth the money.

Does not fit all sized mangoes, but for the ones that do fit it works a treat.
