The Centurylink ZyXEL C3000Z DSL modem/router works wonderfully with Centurylink. Super easy to set up. It has all the features I need and more. My only gripe is that reserving IP/MAC addresses takes longer than usual for DSL modems.2018-10-05 UPDATE: Everything was working fine until today, then I noticed really outlandish ping numbers (up to 2 full seconds for a ping). I called CenturyLink and went through all all the troubleshooting that entails with the end result resetting the C3000Z back to factory defaults. The tech had me go to connect.centrylink.com to finish setting up the mode/router. This was new, I never had to do that before. After doing the online setup, the router was ready to use and the ping times were excellent. But I had a LAN network that was 192.168.123, not the default 192.168.0. As soon as I made the address change, the ping times went back up to 900 ms. I went back to factory defaults and did the connect.centrylink.com setup again. Each time the C3000Z worked great until I changed something in the device. This was never the case before. CenturyLink, it appears, has decided all the CenturyLink branded modem/routers belong to them and they can program them however they wish and the user can't do anything without risking terrible internet speeds.MY ADVICE TO ALL CENTURYLINK CUSTOMERS: Do not buy or use any CenturyLink branded modem/routers. Maybe this is a result of the net neutrality law being abolished by the Trump Administration?

After chatting with Centurylink, (phone tree would not connect me to tech support or a person) and trying to get a replacement for my Zytel C1100Z Centurylink modem/router, I decided to purchase my own.Amazon delivered the package on time. The C1100Z (my old router) had the telephone and the DSL through the router. This C3000Z only has a DSL port so if you use your telephone is on the same line as the DSL, you will need a DSL/telephone splitter. not a telephone filter. This router has WI-FI two modes, one is standard 2.4G and one is 5G. I was not sure of the difference, so I checked the CenturyLink website. They state that 2.4 G and is slower but goes through walls better and a longer distance for wireless, 5G is faster but the distance is less.Summary,So far, this is a good modem/router.One final note: Lighning hit the C1100Z and I had a internet cable connected to my new TV from the modem/router. The lightning fried the modem/router and ran to the TV and blew it. The TV actually popped so if you have anything connected to any modem/router via a Rj45 cable, unplug it during a storm.

Purchase this item at a discount rate. Because it was a second chance purchase through Amazon when I received the item the technician had trouble getting it to work but eventually it started working. One month later the item stopped working correctly but I was not truly aware of it. Because my family was relocating to a new address where this unit was being used. The red light that came on for DSL two line but the internet was still working so I didn't worry about it. But once more items were added to it it was pretty evident that it was not getting appropriate speeds over both dsl1 and DSL two lines. When I asked for a return of course they said it was past the 30 days and then when I asked for warranty information they said there was none other than the 30 days return!I've only had this unit for 3 months and now it's $100 paperweight. This company will never get any more of my money PERIOD!!!

Turned in a leased modem to CenturyLink and purchased this to replace it. Instructions were very clear on how to plug in and activate, took only minutes. It actually works better than the leased modem even though I was told only the casing is new and the 3-year-old technology for the previous modem is the same in this one. Would highly recommend this product.

I've had two of these now....the first one worked great for almost 24 hours, the second one worked great for 4 months....I don't know if I have bad luck or what but I can't seem to keep a unit running for any decent length of time. I'm happy with this product's functionality but I'm frustrated that the power just quits out of the blue and that's it. My husband calls this router "dainty" because of its vulnerability to power problems. Dainty is not something I want in my connection to the internet. I am waiting for a return on the second one right now....and left debating if I should try a third or look for another option entirely...

I received our C3000Z modem free of charge when Embarq became Century Link, but after Century Link became Brightspeed, we were being charged $10 rental fee (check your phone bill every month). This was a super easy one to one swap, just unplug the other modems cables and power and plug them into this new modem. The New modem will reboot and your back on the internet, no need to call tech support. This modem came with a power supply and all cables needed, just like a new unit.
