Such an elegant piece of technology. I use it to determine the salinity of my brine for preserving meats. It is totally accurate. Used it today to measure the salinity of my gin martini neat shaken not stirred with two olives, 7%. Beautiful!

My reason for buying this is probably much different than most consumers. My wife is less tolerant for taste of salt than most people. So when I make kimchi, pickles, sauerkraut and other fermented foods I need to be careful to keep salt levels as low as possible but also within safety range. Until now I have used weight measurements but this has proven to be hit or miss. I have had to throw away kraut and kimchi when they did not have quite enough salt for fermentation! Now I will be able to reliably measure salinity to ensure perfectly fermented foods and hopefully no more wasted food and prep and fermentation time!As soon as this arrived I checked for accuracy and was spot on! Came quick and was easy to find on Amazon. Thank you!

This refractometer is easy to calibrate and use. It detected differences in fresh water salinity between R/O, softened tap, and two different freshwater aquariums (38 gal and 55 gal tanks that have been slowly recovering from the human stupidity of attempting to use softened water for live plants and fish). Consistent, accurate readings.

I love having this item. Typically I take water samples to my local fish store (LFS) to get a read on all levels including salinity. This makes the in between much more manageable. Ive read the level prior to going to LFS and the accuracy is spot on. I am so glad that I purchased this item.

Fonctionne très bien, conforme a la description. Pas besoin de piles, calibration tres facile. Utilisé pour doser le sel d'une piscine, l'echelle est un peu petite mais exploitable.
