I know I just received these but finally found ones to be all metal and no plastic. All my other plastic, even upgraded versions, never last. These I know will as they won't break down in the sun, heat, and the wind putting strain on it. They rotate smoothly. Looks like you can open it up and clean them if needed after a dust storm - if they don't spin as well. But these are quality built for low price.

The flag connections to your polls will vary in effect of keeping your flag from wrapping around the pole based on wind conditions. With high winds they work very well but it puts a lot of stress on the flag pole. With varying winds the flag may often wrap around the top end of the pole. Leave it. The wind will always unwrap the flag. But you need to pay attention to all of the connections on the pole and the base support of the pole.

Bought these to replace another set that was plastic. The plastic eventually wore through and the flag was hanging down by one clip. These clips are metal. Very easy to use. Flag looks great. Would buy again.

These pole rings are great, they're made out of aluminum and unlike the plastic pole rings they won't break.

I generally do not like “Made in China†but the Valley Forge flag parts are hard plastic and do not have the carabiner type clips.So I opted for these metal ones and the perform great. One they come with inset screws to bind to the flag pool and it also comes with the Allenwrench requires for the metric screwsWe live in a very windy area and the older plastic units would bind and not allow the flag to self correct. So far these have performed wonderfully and I have already recommended to several family members and friends.Well worth the price and decent quality
