I was looking for some basic things to illuminate my flag. Illuminates dusk to dawn. Lights from above. Easy to install.l believe this solution met the three basic criteria and then some. First - it does say lit from 'dark' to 'light'. It will be interesting to see if there is a battery issue during winter but I really don't mind if it blinks off at 0330 on January 2.This does 'mount' atop the flag pole. I wanted this look for durability (there are kids in the neighborhood) and to allow the LEDs to remain cleaner simply because rain/snow/dust isn't accumulating on them.As far as installing it, very simple. You unscrew the 'ball' and then put the threaded shaft of the ball (or eagle) through the light disk to re-attach to your pole. I wanted the light coming 'down' as I did not like the options where the illumination would come from below.A couple of other things that I discovered I like about this -- there are 3 rechargable AA batteries in this unit. That means when the current batteries fail to take a full charge, the batteries can be replaced. Also, this is very lightweight. I didn't want to have a heavy light at the top of the flag pole. This is a great solution that doesn't weigh much.This is a 5 star solution across the board.ONE THING - remember to 'turn the switch on' when you are done 'installing' the light. The batteries apparently come with a charge in them. There is a switch on the LED side of the light. If you don't turn it on, it won't illuminate!

I Love this flag pole light. This is our 2nd one. My buddy gave me this light many years ago and it had lasted for longer than any color light I've ever owned. So when it finally went out, I bought the exact same one again. It stays lit all night, even on not so sunny days of charging and that's important. If you're going to leave an American flag up at night, protocol states ot must be lit. This does the job perfectly. Also, being at the top of thenpole, it puts the light perfectly on the flag. I had to engineer this to fit on my 1" flagpole, but it wasn't difficult to do. If this one lasts half as long as my previous one, I'll consider that a winner!!!

This light is the 27 light one, paid 19 dollars or it. It out last and is brighter than a 60 dollar flag pole light I have on my other flag pole.

We bought these solar lights for our flagpoles and they work like they should. They are not very bright but they do provide enough light to keep the flags lit up in the night. I have no complaints, they work as they should. They definitely make the flag poles look better. They have been through some downpouring rain and a lot of wind and are still working.
