This is a decent set of starter trays, but they're a little smaller than the ones you typically find at a nursery. They're still fine for most seedlings though you will want to transfer them pretty quickly. My only issue with them is how tightly they were packet together. I ripped a couple of them trying to get them separated.PACKAGING:These just come wrapped in a cellophane bag. Nothing fancy needed.FITMENT:They're a little smaller than the standard trays I typically use, but they should still work. They are really jammed together though.QUALITY:Nothing bad to say. It's a seedling tray after all.VALUE:Okay value. Nothing too special.

These seedling starter cells are made of the same fiber that many egg cartons are fabricated from. They hold growing media nicely, and maintain moisture very well without losing their shape or falling apart. They are sized to fit into a standard 1020 tray and the tapered cells are fairly deep, which encourages strong root growth. Seedlings germinate well when the unit is covered with a clear, humidity-holding cover. Once the seedlings are large enough to transplant, the cells can be separated using scissors or a utility knife and transferred to the garden or to a larger pot. Because the roots aren't disturbed, there is less transplant shock, and the root ball stays intact. These biodegradable trays are just as effective as those made of peat, but they are a more sustainable option for those interested in organic and sustainable agriculture.

These are exactly what we expected them to be. Not the most robust but I think thats a good thing as we plan to just plan the whole container with the plants in it, so it should break down faster then.

When I ordered these little starter trays, I got worried that they wouldn't hold up well to being constantly moist and that they would have trouble maintaining their shape. Well, I was absolutely wrong. They have held up great after a week of being watered regularly and I do have a few seedlings already popping up. I have had to move around the trays a few times and they have held up, no problem. All in all, definitely worth it for the price (currently $12.99).

Do you have a Barbie doll? These would be perfect for your Barbie doll. But if you bought them to actuallysprout seedlings you will be sorely disappointed. These things are way way too small to be actually used to germinate anything meaningful. The picture is deceiving. A cardboard carton would be much more useful because it is much larger than these tiny tiny little cells. Save your money unless of course you want these for your Barbie doll.
