Find the Mach 3 drivers online, works fine without connecting any power. Connect all grounds to com. I also have all my 5v enables connected together. Works with windows 10, replacing an xp box.

No CD, no manual. Just board and cable, as many buyers have said. It's a job to search the web for a manual. If you can find then (search for FTB4100 manual), one installation manual tells you how to get Mach3 to drive it. Another guide tells you something about pin hookups. Else you have to look for clues like the 5V line placed nicely next to signals, suggesting that the signal is an open collector to pull down the negative of the optocoupler on the stepper driver. Mach3 needs a driver RnRmotion.dll. You can find that on the web too. Once you've figured all this out, it seems to work well. Ignore any instructions about a green light on the board. A red one flashes when USB is connected, then goes solid red when communications are established. It flashes during data transmission. Good luck.

I don't know why I keep buying this poorly supported crap. As a piece of hardware it's fine. It will work. But not with out a lot of time spent sleuthing for information. If someone is selling something, they are making money from it, why can they just just supply proper documents. The people, company or individual that designed this board did a good enough job, but these clueless resellers of stuff that have no idea what they are selling, copying documents from other clueless sellers and in the end nobody really knows how this stuff works.

Overall, the board came with everything it needed--the board itself, a USB cable, and a disk with a (granted relatively poor) manual and control software. I just hooked it up to my Zyltech DM542 drivers and everything seems to work well just spinning the motor--will update if things go poorly for the rest of the machine. One complaint is that the manual calls for a voltage source outside of just the USB, but I ran it without one and it was fine. Also, one row of the connectors came soldered on backwards so the wires face the board, but again thats only annoying not crippling. In total, seems like a fine product for $40

Never did get to work. Software issues. Nothing I could read on the CD. I downloaded the USB Motion plugin, it wouldnt connect. So this is all pretty worthless.

This is my first USB controller to replace my parallel port based controller. It requires a dll file to be added to MACH3 but is very straightfoward to use and control just the same!
