I use these pins to hold my canvases off the table while creating my acrylic paint pouring future masterpieces. (No artist's works are recognized for their genius while the artist is still living, right?) I had been using small push pins but the metal portion would bend and my fingertips got sore trying to push the pins into the wooden sides of the canvas. The bigger pins, with their larger surface areas, spread the pressure around so that my fingers are not so sore. The metal shafts are beefier, too. I use a hammer to seat the pins flush against the wood so the canvas is less likely to be unlevel.

These are the perfect size to use on your canvases to keep them from extra paint flowing onto the back of the canvas. I keep them on the canvas until I’m all done with all I do with the layers of paint and resin I use. About an inch from tip to top.

They have a wider thumb end and are much more comfortable to use. My fiancé is a collector and has alot of art, die cast cars and in-package items on the wall and these push tacks are indispensable, they seem to be able to bare more weight too.
