Wow you get just about every peg you will ever need, found this kit locally and it was selling for double the price this kit sold for. A nice variety of pegs for just about any shelf out there, nice to keep as spares.

I discovered too late that a shelf was missing from a cabinet in my kitchen. But the pins were totally different from the ones I had on hand left over from replacing the pins in a shelving unit. Which were also different from the ones holding a glass shelf in a curio cabinet. So noticing that many different shelving pins are in various pieces of furniture in my apartment it made sense to get a variety pack of pins so that when I need a replacement one I have the right kind. And of course when you need something as small as a shelving pin it's the middle of the night assembling something and a pin falls, rolls away never to be seen again and the stores are closed. This variety pack solves the problem.

I had a book case with similar "American made" pegs. My books overloaded one of the shelves and suddenly I had a mess. I ordered some replacement pegs only to find that they were too small for the holes. So then I discovered that there are TWO peg diameters so I ordered the ones 1/4 inch in diameter. Unfortunately, that's not the only dimension that was different. I had ordered the ones with a hole in the support so I could screw them to the bottom of the shelves so they wouldn't come out. I don't know who designed these but obviously they didn't test them. The holes, a good idea but were positioned too far in so that they likely wouldn't work. I finally did what I should have done in the first place. I went back to square one and used threaded inserts, 1/4-20 screws and 1/2 inch diameter nylon bushings. It took me less than an hour to retrofit ten shelves in two bookcases and now I could load them with 500 lbs of lead and they'll never fail. Like I say, these may work for lightly loaded, close-fitting shelves and with holes that match the peg diameter.
