This unit is keeping my 100ah lifepo4 battery fully charged. I like the product and it’s working great for me. I will update my review if anything changes.

First thing you’ll notice is that this is a heavy duty and durable controller. It’s solid. Comes with clear instructions. Simple to connect and control. Notes on the controller too, so you won’t forget what the different led colors mean. Three led indicators let you monitor the current and charge status of your batteries. Has settings for various batteries. I only used it for a large lithium battery and it worked flawlessly. Definitely recommended for an easy and reliable set up.

I own several other solar charge controllers, including a 10A MPPT controller of a different brand, and I looked forward to testing this ATEM Power controller. As the amazon pictures show, the controller comes with SAE connectors and since my 50W solar panel comes with MC4 connectors, a SAE to MC4 cable was needed for my application. The type of battery needs to be set during the first usage (it remembers it later), which is just a matter of pressing the "battery type" button several. I only own 12V LiFePo4 batteries and this controller works well with them (I use a SAE to alligator cable to connect it to a battery). I wish the charge controller had a display to show the charging current/voltage (like my other 10A MPPT solar charge controller) but I knew it did not have one when I ordered it. I feel like this charge controller would be a good match for a 12V, 100W solar panel. Overall, I am very happy with this controller and I hope it will last a long time.

Update: Upgrading to 4 stars. Again my previous failure with this controller may have been user error or just something the controller did not like in that configuration. However I gave it another try when building a solar battery box for a heavy traffic trail cam that was draining the internal batteries of regular trail cam solar panel battery combos. I was installing an external voltmeter/battery condition display so the lack of a controller display was not an issue for me as it was not necessary to open the box for a convenient battery check. I still deduct a star for lack of a display and scant troubleshooting when it doesn't work but it did work exactly as it should in this standard application so I do have to raise to 4 stars. This controller did not work for me. This could have been user error or a defective controller but neither the controller or documentation did much to indicate error conditions. The controllers I like to use have digital displays that show battery condition, charging input and error codes when necessary. These displays also help to optimize solar panel positioning. After realizing the battery was not charging after several hours and consulting the documentation as well as checking connections and polarity I gave up and replaced it with one of my regular controllers. As I said this could have been my own error but a controller with a more informative display just has too many advantages to use this unless it just works from the get go.

This small solar controller uses SAE connectors, and mine came with a handy polarity changer. My other PWM controller uses MC4 and Powerpole connectors, so I had to make a new set of adapters to test this unit. Others have said this controller can automatically detect the battery type, but I have found this is not true. I connected it to a LiFePO4 battery and it indicated a lead-acid battery. The instructions also state you must select the battery type. It will remember the battery type even after all power is disconnected.I started charging a LiFePO4 battery with a 200W portable panel on an overcast, cloudy day. The controller showed two solid red lights and one flashing red, and a DC clamp ammeter showed the battery being charged at 2.4 Amps. When fully charged, all three LEDs were solid red and the current dropped to zero. This is a nice little controller for small solar projects and keeping various small batteries charged and ready for use.

Since we got our RV we've learned a great deal about solar. The original batteries went first - replaced with LiFePO4 from Battle Born batteries. The stock charger system went next - replaced with Victon equipment. These inline charge controllers are another first rate addition for the safety and longevity of our system. The device is solid and nicely made. The plugs are nice and tight. I hadn't thought about other uses but the battery clip adapter is a really handy. It lets me take my panels out to the tractor battery etc which is easier than dragging an extension code and charger. The display is as bright as can be expected but in the direct Utah sun, I had to get some shade on it. I'm going to get another and start using the RV panels for more things. Because this unit works with lead acid and AGM and LiPo and LiFePO4 it opens up the panels for so many things.
