We didn’t want handles in the kitchen so we used these for push to open. Easy to install! We’ve had them for about four months now and they are working well!

The springs are possibly a bit to heavy for my application but seem to work quite well considering the laws of physics. I'm using these as a push to open mechanism (PTOM) for the pocket doors in my house, which are equipped with soft open and close mechanisms (SOCM).Ideally the pocket door could be slid open at the lowest speed possible, hit the PTOM, and the SOCM would carry the door all the way into the pocket, latching the PTOM into the closed position. If you know anything about springs and soft close mechanisms, you should see the paradox here. The springs in the PTOM need to be soft enough that the SOCM can fully retract and latch the PTOM, but then they need to be stiff enough to overcome the SOCM when you push in and release the PTOM. As far as I know this is physically impossible. However, there is at least one YouTube video that says this capability exists in Canada or Europe or maybe both...no clue how you can do it though because the PTOM needs to have a weaker spring than the SOCM upon opening the door (closing the PTOM), but a stronger spring upon closing the pocket door (releasing the PTOM).In my opinion, what i described above is impossible. However this unit provided the best balance of three that I tried. It also benefits from being incredibly easy to install, tune, and has the lowest price. However, one issue with tuning, this PTOM doesn't have as much total adjustment as stated. This is because when you unscrew the adjustment to max extension (clicks when you get there), then push it in (like your would when you use it), it will push the adjustment back, skipping over the threads that allow the adjustment (you hear them skipping as well) and then the position will be retracted relative to the fully unscrewed position. This means the total adjustment is only about 2mm MAX in practice. Fine for my application but definitely not as much actual adjustment as advertised. I mean you can adjust it as much as it says, but it won't stay there...tried two others and this PTOM had the best spring stiffness and throw for my soft close mechanisms. The other thing you need to look out for is having the correct throw. If the throw is too long, the SOCM will not "grab" the door before it hits the PTOM. This will cause the door to bounce off the PTOM. Unless you use the magnets maybe. I didn't because the SOCM is holding the door into the PTOM in my case and the magnets would make it unnecessarily more difficult to pull out of the pocket. On the other side, if the throw is too short, the door won't come out of the pocket far enough to grab. The ideal throw would allow the SOCM to just barely grab before hitting the PTOM, and then when releasing PTOM it would be able to just barely escape the clutches of the SOCM.In the end physics still wins so I had to make some compromises and these units allowed for the optimal operation that I believe is physically possible. If I push the door open with pretty high force I can get the PTOM to latch and the door sits flush in the pocket without any other intervention. But if I open it softly, the SOCM will still grab the door but it won't latch the PTOM and the door will not sit flush in the pocket. However the door does still stick out enough to close it in this position and the SOCM keeps the door in this spot nicely. A light to moderate press is required to latch the PTOM from here. Pressing again will unlatch the PTOM and most of the time provides just enough throw and force to push the door barely past the SOCM grab point facilitating very easy closing of the door. Sometimes it doesn't clear the SOCM completely but a still allows for relatively easy closing by grabbing the protruding door.I give these three stars because apparently Canada and Europe has exactly what I need but nobody sells it in the states and I'm trying to encourage getting them here. Also the adjustment slips at max extension so that could be an issue for someone.Ultimately someone should sell a PTOM with a matching SOCM that are designed and tuned to work as I described above. But since, throw and spring force both need to be matched a single manufacturer would probably be the only one who could make it work perfectly, if it's possible. Or a unit with tuneable spring tension and throw may be the best option, but then it would probably cost a lot more and i didn't see any like that. I really wanted to try the "EZ OPEN" PTOM. but at $45 a pop plus shipping these ones were a much more approachable choice for this experiment. I'm now able to do all of my doors and have several spares for less than half of one of the "EZ OPEN" units. Considering how close to prefect these work I'm happy with them for the price. Longevity and durability are unknown but they seem reasonably strong for this application.

I make custom furniture and cabinets. I like how these have a low profile for a push to open door. Many other hardware options are bulky, and have to be installed in the door opening. These are drilled into the wood, and basically hidden. I will be using these from now on.

While I didn’t need ten of them, this purchase was still cheaper than ONE of the name brand I was trying to replace, and does the job perfectly.

Works very well the only real issue is if you use it for large/heavy doors. Then it doesn't have enough strength to open it
