I've used a handful of these. Their workmanship is very good. The threads are well machined and the nut fits and cinches well. The 6 AWG unit will easily handle 2 --number 6 AWG wires, even the heavier duty welding cable versions. If you are looking to connect more than 2, #6's in a single split bolt, I would suggest that you move up to something with #2 AWG or #4 AWG specs. I have some of the their #2 AWG split bolts in a multiple # 6 AWG wire connection.

The first one I tried to install broke, ripped one leg off the splitbolt with moderate torque between two boxend flat wrenches. looking at the break point, the outside looks to be copper colored, but the inside was gray/silver color and grainy in appearance. 2 more stripped where one side jumped a thread, but held on while being crossthreaded. The other 7 were installed with much less tightening torque, but didn't really get things good-n-tight. I'll be getting others and doubling up on these.

Was not stamped to indicate if its rated for copper or aluminum conductors. Did not have grooves to dig into the conductor as over brands do have. Worked good enough for splicing two #6 awg copper conductos.

I used these for my electrical fence to keep the livestock in. Voltage jumped a couple of thousand volts higher when i started using these instead of twisting the wire. It makes everything easier to mage and they are priced just right. These same bolts are $32 at Tractor Supply. I highly recommend and thinking about purchasing more just in case.IsaacRichlands, NC

NOT SOLID COPPER at this price but still a decent deal if you do not need expensive solid CU.
