The grid lines work well to reduce counting time and helps you find your place & make it much easier to map out your pattern.
The stiffness of the fabric is about average for attaching a tension hoop, with grid lines it is perfect for beginners to use as a guide, for expert wanting to save time, and it is a great fabric for large cross stitch projects that have a whole host of colors in a one-inch square.

I used it to cross stitch. I knew where I was when I was making the pattern I was able to skip around and was more comfortable doing it knowing I have the green guide. Good purchase will buy again :))

The grid lines are a very, very pale green which can be seen only in very strong light. They are almost invisible. What’s the point?
