After reading other reviews, reporting my 1/2 ton press arrived fine - complete and no damage.Packaging was excellent.Double wall corrugated box and a high density styrofoam clam shell as pictured.Had to assemble handle. Four stars because my arbor was upside down with the hole for the 3 accessory tips on top but easy to flip by removing the locking collar and pulling the shaft out.Tool arrived well painted wrapped in a plastic bag within the foam clamshell. Everything had a light coat of machine oil so no rust on any exposed surface.I purchased this model over alternatives specifically for the slot handle at the top of the frame. Works well to lift and move as I had hoped. So far, it works as expected.

I've used this arbor press on a couple of small projects, so I know it works. That said, there were a few manufacturing issues that could have been fixed with better quality control. As you can see from the picture, the ram is not centered in the anvil. This is my first arbor press, so I don't know if this is a common problem. The magnet that holds the punches in the ram was not glued in properly, so it came out attached to the first punch I tried. I was able to glue it correctly. Finally, the set screws that are used to adjust the tension on the ram (so it doesn't drop by itself) were not fully screwed into the body of the press. It took some effort to screw them in since the screw holes were not properly threaded.None of the flaws are fatal but they are annoying. Hence the three-star review.

Seems to be well made. When putting it together a small plate dropped out from the ram area. This puzzled me for a bit until I realized that it distributes the pressure on the ram from the inside via the front pressure bolts.. So you just put it back there and then insert the ram behind it. The ram is well designed and holds the heads in place easily with a magnet.
