Honest review: I have the previous version with the rechargeable battery bought in May 2021. That being said, I think all of the features and quality will be the same. This alarm system absolutely works as described. My house is in the woods, so I wanted to know when someone approaches. My driveway is 800 ft long, however the sensor is located on the front of my detached garage nearer to my home about 150ft - 200ft from the alarm. In the almost 4 years of owning it, I have charged the sensor maybe 4 times. I estimate that the alarm is triggered around 10 - 12 times a day. I keep the alarm in my home plugged in so I cannot speak on battery life with that. The alarm in the house has options that I have never explored as I only use it as it came programmed i.e. various tones and zones, I think for multiple sensors.Pros:1. The sensor has withstood our New Hampshire weather, freezing cold, snow, and freezing rain without breaking.2. Battery life is very good with charge lasting well over 6 months (cannot speak to replaceable batteries).3. The adjustable alarm is loud enough to hear throughout the house.4. Never an issue with quality.Cons:I do not have any cons to list but here are some things I've dealt with primarily due to my placement of the sensor.1. Wildlife will trigger it as should be expected, birds, rabbits, squirrels, and once a pair of coyotes passing through in the middle of the night.2. Falling leaves in the fall triggers it.Tips:1. Don't place the sensor where you do a lot of activity like I did. I don't typically work out of my garage but on the occasion that I do, the alarm will continue to chime every time I enter or exit the door (drives my wife and dogs nuts). She simple unplugs the alarm until I am done.2. The alarm will chime if you place the sensor where delivery trucks i.e. UPS and Fedex need to turn around. My driveway requires them to do multiple point turns and it happens to be right in front of the sensor.I will probably be moving the sensor down the driveway a bit to avoid these unnecessary chimes. All in all, this alarm does everything it says it will do. It alerts you when triggered and quality has never been an issue. When the time comes and I need to replace it, I will not hesitate to stick with this system.

This system works well for driveway alarm. The base station is convenient and has a long range. Our transmitter is close to 100 yards away and the base station is in the middle of our house and still works well. Can’t go wrong on this one!

Have been using now for four months. Purchased two transmitter units and one receiver. Screwed one transmitter to the back of a plastic mailbox (did not work in metal mailbox) approximately 1100 ft from the in house receiver and the second transmitter at entrance to driveway at about 1000 ft from receiver. Set receiver for two different channels. The signal has to travel through mostly heavily wooded area and gradually down 100 ft slope to the receiver. We were impressed as to how well these worked. The mailbox transmitter has had No false alarms as to date (black mailbox) and the driveway transmitter has had only about 10 false alarms. The false alarm on the driveway transmitter was due mostly to the late afternoon sun hitting the transmitter. Changed the angle of transmitter a little (away from sun) and this reduced the false driveway alarms. Have Not had to charge the batteries so far after four months of use. There are four sensitivity settings and four different channels (for four transmitters) on the the receiver if needed. The driveway transmitter has only been tested on the heat from vehicles and works well. The mailbox transmitter has been triggered by heat from our rural mail carrier and has worked flawlessly. Have had no problems with system since initial setup. No problem during rain. Set up was easy but had to make minor adjustments the first few days, angle up-down and side to side using the swivel mount. Sensitivity is set on two for both transmitters. Would highly recommend.

easy to install driveway detector. Very long range, easy to set up. Very sensitive to movement will detect squirrels on most sensitive setting. The ball joint adjustment mechanism is plastic for weather resistance, but very difficult to tighten with fingers, I needed a set of channel locks to tighten this wimpy plastic nut so the sensor head was tight. Would be nice if there were other optional announcement voices instead of "driveway" driveway" Would glady give 5 stars for a nicer plastic ball joint nut and optional detector announcements.

I own a campground and live on the premises. We figured out early that we needed a way to monitor when someone comes on the property. I first purchased these sensors in Jan 2019. I put one receiver in the house and one in the office, with one sensor on the front gate and the second on the back driveway. They have worked really well for the last 5 years. I take the sensors down and charge them once a year. Last month one sensor stopped working. Figured out the battery was no longer holding a charge. I ordered another sensor to replace the failed one and another receiver so I could monitor from a 3rd location. Long story short, the newer units would not work with the older units. Contacted Hosmart customer service and they responded the next day. They informed me that the new systems would not work with the old one, but, offered a really nice discount to upgrade my whole system. I feel like my rep, "Bella" went above and beyond to make things right for me. I highly recommend this system if you need to know when someone's coming on your property.

I installed this in 2020 and it still works perfectly everyday all the time. I have to recharge it about once every 6 months to a year. The only thing I found that was an issue is the sensor has two y to beam and would tend to pick up cars that people walking close to my entrance. I put a small piece of tape on either side of the sensor to narrow the beam and it works perfectly. It only goes off when people actually cross the being coming into my property. Very very few false positives, very happy with the product

Mounted the sensor on a post near the end of my driveway (175 feet from house). Receiver/alarm unit is in main living space. Works better than I hoped for! Anything entering my driveway triggers the alarm (vehicle, person, even a stray cat once!) but I have had no false alarms or missed alarms. I also have security cameras and when this unit alerts me I can look at the security monitor to determine who or what triggered the alarm. I chose sensitivity level 2 on the sensor during installation and it works perfectly for me. I also set the sensor device number to 4 so that it doesn't flash a visible red LED (this might yield longer periods between battery recharges).

I have been living off a main road for a decade and never really had a problem, but with the ongoing pandemic started to encounter issues with porch thieves and delivery drivers not knocking on the door so I needed an alert system to tell us when someone was coming up to our front door. A motion camera wouldn't have cut it as you could easily nab something in the time it took for the image to transfer to a device and I don't always carry my phone with me.Thus, after some looking around, I landed on the Hosmart and it is very effective and easy to install. It detects based on motion as well as IR, but small critters aren't really a concern of mine though the claim is that they won't trip the alert. The included receiver has a capacity for four different sensors if you need them and four distance settings for detection, though we found that it was sensitive no matter what you put it to. For this reason, my original placement did not work as cars on the street were triggering it and there were also a lot of phantom alerts that we couldn't determine the cause of.However, once we found an inconspicuous spot to aim directly at our door, the device works perfectly. It is powered by a rechargable 18650 battery that cannot be removed as the contacts are wrapped into it (although with some finagling, you can probably change it out). The claim is that the battery will last over a year, but I can't really comment on that as I've only had it for a short time. The battery can be recharged via micro USB on the base of the unit which is protected by a rubber flap. There are no further rubber parts or lining so how this will stand up to a Canadian winter is yet to be seen, but so far it has done well with the constant rain. The receiver is also powered by a microUSB plug, but can accept four AA batteries for backup. The tone/chime is not directly configurable but each of the four channels has a unique tone and two of them will cause the sensor unit to light red when tripped, while the other two will let the sensor be more stealthy and not let anyone know of its presence. The sensor itself is about the size of a Rubik's cube and works wirelessly with the receiver. We've had no issues with the signal going through our walls. We've already had a few deliveries and regular mail delivery and each time we've been notified the instant someone comes up the stairs. It's given us a significant peace of mind as there is very little space between the sidewalk and our porch so we've been happy to know the moment someone is around.

This sensor is phenomenal. I bought this for my driveway on my acreage and with the sensitivity on the highest setting, it was picking up passing tractor trailers on the highway app. 150' away on the highway. This is by far the best driveway sensor I have owned to date and incidentally was the best priced for the value. It will pick up vehicles, people, dogs and a fox which I had coming into the yard at night. So far it is only the start of winter but despite a snowstorm and -20 C weather it hasn't missed a beat. I also like the fact that you can power the receiver off of batteries which is handy if I am out in the garden on my property as I cannot see the driveway when I am out there. This is definitely a must have if you live on a rural property and far exceeded my expectations.

Dislike that school bus flashing light on the top of the bus, sets it off. So we have had to angle half way down our driveway.
