Got for my son's birthday and used it 3 times with some bread in an Iowa lake. Caught multiple "smaller than a hand" fish each time. I'm sure if we left it out longer we would have caught much more, but keeping a 6 year old from wanting to pull the trap up longer than an hour is quite hard..lol may not be legal in your area, so talk to your local rangers. Mine were fine letting me use it with my son if I released everything.

I was very impressed with how this is made, with a zippered opening and small netting. I bought it in order to catch my baby koi, I have about 40 of them, far to many to keep in the pond. So I did want to comment that I had a lot of trouble with the large koi getting into the trap.First I tried making the back of the entrances smaller by cutting the size in half. I also found that bait placement seems to be very critical to attract them to the holes. But if I put the bait at the end of the holes, the large koi will stick their noses in and eat the bait, even if they cannot get totally inside.My current plan is to sew some 1/2 inch plastic netting in the front of each hole, so the babies can swim in but the large koi cannot. Hopefully this will trick the little critters. We will see!

Bought this for my grandson who wanted to trap minnows he use hotdogs for bait got minnows bluegills and on the second day unfortunately a turtle all the fish were released the turtle didnt make it. He hasn’t used it since life lessons I guess but this is a great product, I would buy one again

This works for small bait fish only. If a 10" fish get in there. It'll tear it up. When you leave it overnight, you cannot control what goes in.
