This tool seems to do the trick so far. I took out the factory packing for the exhaust and replaced it with some thing a little denser. This will drop the db's substantially. Make sure it can still exhaust out or it wont work or if it does it wont be efficient. So far so good.

Works great, just very loud. I tried a sandpaper that was terrible until I purchased the 3m, after that it is great.

Item looked proper, seem fine. I added the recommended amount of oil prior to use and gave it a few trigger pulls before I started grinding spot welds. After 3 spot welds the belt grinder stayed engage even after depressing the trigger/lever . Witch is not safe. Other then that it took those spot welds with ease. But stay engage without pressing the trigger is unsafe so that's why I return it. Maybe it was a dud but I shoped for one locally and that one hasn't butch!

I like how the 4 and 5 star reviewers always comment about how well a tool works for 2 minutes fresh out of the box, then make comments like I haven't tried to change the belt yet or it' nice and shiny it should work well. I bought this tool only because of the feedback, I don't know how many times I've bought junk because of feedback but the list is growing. I use this tool for mostly metal grinding, I have two other types of this tool that are junk. I've gone through a dozen or so belts so far. This tool works well for what you pay for, it doesn't bog down when you apply pressure, the rpm stays consistent with a high output compressor and the belts don't come flying off. The big issue my tool has and maybe it's just the tool I received is that the stopper (part no. 3037-23) doesn't hold the tension bar back so I can change the belt, it's a big enough pain in the butt that I give this tool 2 stars.
