This is a pull chain, and it works just fine - I have a ceiling light hanging over a two story stairwell, and I grew sick of tempting the ladder demons. So I put this on, put it through an eye hook that I screwed into the wall, and no more fear of dying when I turn the light off.

I got this to replace several DIY attempts at string and other types of pull mechanisms for a very high ceiling light in the patio storage room. The light is almost 10 feet high and this was the perfect solution.You get plenty of chain and several attachments for connecting to the original chain end near the light or fan fixture. Everything connected as expected. Since you get way more chain than needed for 1 repair, you just need some decent wire cutters to cut what chain length you don’t need. The quality and functionality are great. Installation was easy. It looks just as expected and is a big improvement over old string and tape.

We were looking for a roll of ceiling fan chain line this for multiple ceiling fans and i love that it came with several spare attachment points. Nice, long and strong chain.Exactly what we were looking for.
