I just installed from the BeasTrek Store, the 12AWG 20A RV Shore Power Inlet Plug, 125V AC Socket with 16" Extension Cord, Heavy-Duty T-Blade Adapter Cable, Waterproof Outlet Box & Watertight Cap for RV/Trailer/Boat Outdoor Electrical UseWinter is here, and I utilize space heaters. My RV is a 50 amp. any with any luck depending where I am parked up at, will have a 30 amp outlet as well. Regardless, I still watch my power usage around the RV and what’s is coming off the power pole. But this method helps with overload the receptacle outlet in the RV.I installed the inlet that enters the RV, at the space of my home office desk/workspace so that i can plug-in power for a small space heater.A 12awg 15ft. extension cord plugs is at the 30 amp plug with an 125v 3-prong adapter and pathways to the this inlet. The 125v inlet is extremely great qualities. Sturdy and extremely well built. I have quite content of the build and the ability to perform with reliability. An EPDM washer gasket provides a water tight seal between the RV wall and socket inlet. Essentially not having to be set in an application of sealant is an added convenience and ease of installation.Simple to install, just add the shortest extension cord with the highest performing wire awg possible (if powering a high power draw appliance). Literally plug and play. No additional wiring or setup needed.Great all around value, functional, quick and easy installation, high perfomance, durable and sturdy for reliability, and adds convenience, and time saving accessibility when established. In addition (not included) I added a wire passthrough cover plate to provide a sleeker cleaner look.Overall, highly recommended for an all around great value.

Ordered this 12AWG 20A RV Shore Power Inlet Plug, 125V AC Socket with 16" Extension Cord in order to get rid of an extension cord I have ghetto ran to an old camper that does not move any longer but we still use sometimes in the summer for camping. The AC system came melted when I bought it so I just run an extension cord. This will allow me to cut a hole in the side and then plug directly into that and not have an opening for critters and bugs to get in.The product is very heavy duty in my opinion. Thick plastic jacket and 12 AWG wires that have 20 amp capable plugs. That is exactly the level of power and construction that I need for my project. The picture makes the interior extension cord look longer than it actually is, it is 16 inches which is fine for me as I am just plugging in a surge strip which has it's own cord. I also really like the rubber weather seal, it is thick and seals well. Having been disappointed by a lot of the camper products I have ordered and reviewed the quality of this item is a welcome change of pace. If you need a well made shore power plug to short extension cord then I recommend this product.

The Bestrek inlet plug looks and feels good and looks like it will withstand some rugged use on cargo trailer. It's advertised as watertight, which is perhaps a bit ambitious due to the lack of positive seal engagement, but it's certainly making a good attempt at dust and water resistance with a reasonable friction fit. I installed this in a spot that is sheilded from direct spray and runoff, and I think it will be adequately water resistant in that setting. In all cases you can save yourself some trouble by hitting the contacts with some dielectric grease to help reduce the chance of corrosion. The construction looks to be appropriate for 20A, with a 12ga wire and NEMA 5-20P compatibility (actually, also NEMA 6-20p and 6-15P). I didn't see any UL or other certifications, but it's a pretty simple design with reasonable construction quality, so I'm not too worried about that. -1 star for a water resistant, but not really watertight cover - a threaded cover would be actually watertight.

This seems to be very well built, and is heavier than it looks. Cord is labeled as 12awg and feels it. The female side is nice because it will take multiple different plug configurations, so it should fit just about any setup. Honestly, my favorite part about this was the drain hole. I know that seems insignificant, and it probably is when the waterproof cover is in place, but when you’re actually using this, if it’s raining, the last thing I want is for water to pool up in there. This also comes with a caviar, the drain plug will drain inside, so consider what it could leak onto if you are using this in the rain and it leaks. There is enough room that you could drill it out a little larger and install a drain tube to route the water if needed. It did not come with any paperwork, and an installation template would have been nice, but not necessarily needed. The description says this needs a 2” hole, and that is accurate, but you could possibly get away with a slightly smaller hole. You will need about 3-4” depth behind this plug for room including an initial bend if needed. The waterproof gasket has the cover built into it.

I'm still working on the best installation for this. If you just mount it on the side of your rig it's not going to be waterproof, rain will run down the sides and get into the connector with the potential to create a short. This needs a tight plug to fit snug into the hole or mounted so that it is not sitting out where it could get wet. As far as the unit itself it is sturdy and appropriate gauge.

I got this because I have a very power hungry gaming PC and my wife has her Xbox and when we're playing together and she uses the microwave, it will sometimes pop a breaker. I have a 30 Amp RV and so rather than buying a new RV that's 50 amp, I got this and ran it from the storage cubby to the front room and now I can plug my surge protector directly to the 120v outlet on the power post.
